Welcome Our autumn season for 2017 presents a range of high-quality contemporary dance companies and artists.

The programme includes Scottish Dance Theatre’s YAMA by internationally acclaimed choreographer, Damien Jalet, and new work by emerging, regionally-based companies in Northern Connections 2 which brings together 70/30 Split, Joseph Reay-Reid and Gracefool Collective.

The ongoing dismantling of boundaries between dance and other art forms is at play in Joan Clevillé’s The North, and between the arts and popular culture in Holly Blakey’s Some Greater Class.

You will also find performances at other venues listed here, including a new commission by Studio Wayne McGregor at Carriageworks as part of Light Night Leeds, and the Celebration Gala for Nadine Senior, the pioneering founding principal of Northern School of Contemporary Dance, at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

K-Arts Dance Company presents a mixed bill of five short works from their growing repertoire, exploring East Asian customs and culture.

Hailing from Korea National University of Arts, the company have been established since 1993 and have been touring major cities around the world since 2001. Following its debut in 2014, Damien Jalet’s critically acclaimed YAMA returns as a brand new full length work.

With set design by renowned visual artist Jim Hodges (Association Internationale des Critiques d’Art), YAMA explores the mythology associated with mountains inspired by the pagan and animist rituals practised among the mountains of Tohoku, Japan. Created with the dancers of Scottish Dance Theatre YAMA is an awe-inspiring piece that gathers energy as it grows. Discounts The concessionary rate is available for 16-25 year olds, senior citizens (60+), full time students, unwaged and under 18s.

Group bookings Groups are entitled to one free ticket for every ten tickets booked. Proof of eligibility will be required.

Payment All major credit / debit cards are accepted and transactions can be made either over the phone, in person or by booking online.

We regret that reservations cannot be accepted and please note that tickets are non-refundable unless a performance is cancelled.
