Every Friday the 13th (PD13), motorcycle enthusiasts from all over tackle this route that travels through the quaint town of Port Dover. 200 years ago one of the most important events in American and British history happened along the banks of the Thames River right here in present-day Chatham-Kent. The picturesque Thames River winds its way through Chatham-Kent and features over 12 pull-offs where you can read about the fateful journey taken by First Nations and the British as they were chased by the American forces in 1813 during the War of 1812.

Take a cruise through some of Chatham-Kent’s rural roads and explore the northern station of the Underground Railroad. Experience Buxton National Historic Site & Museum, Uncle Tom’s Cabin Historic Site, and the Chatham-Kent Black Mecca Museum, which are located in North Buxton, which was featured on an episode of the hit CBC Television Show “Still Standing”; Dresden and Downtown Chatham. Sarnia-Lambton is surrounded by scenic waterfront, showcasing the St. Clair River and beautiful Lake Huron and we are in the heart of the Great Lakes region. Check out our International Blue Flag white sandy beaches, world class theatre, river boat cruises, trails, parks and an exciting culinary and drink scene. We are easy to access from highway 402 and our American visitors/riders can access the Blue Water Bridge that connects Port Huron, Michigan with Sarnia, Ontario. The coast is just the beginning, while riding the region within Ontario’s Blue Coast.

This tour will give you a brief overview of the important areas in the Oil Heritage District, and also allow you to experience the boom atmosphere of the early days. The great oil rush of the 1800’s was a major drama staged in Petrolia, Oil Springs and Bothwell, and it’s “black gold” enticed men by the thousands. You will be able to experience early Queen Anne Style Architecture such as the Victoria Playhouse and walk the grounds of a fully restored working 19th century oil field.

Jump off Highway 401 or 402 for a relaxing cruise through Middlesex County. Just outside the city of London, you can take in fantastic views as you navigate through some of the most beautiful countryside that Southwestern Ontario has to offer.
