opportunities GOZO Contemporary is a contemporary art space where artists have the opportunity of working and producing their works of art during their short stay on the island of Gozo. Self-directed creative residencies provide time, space and facilities for experimentation and production of artworks and for the development of ideas in visual art, video and interactive media. There are no formal activities organised around a self-directed creative residency. With no constraints, artists are at liberty to structure their own time. These residencies are intended as professional development opportunities for contemporary artists. Work on collaborative projects or interdisciplinary activity is particularly encouraged. The artists are required to create their works during this short time and a showing of the works produced will be exhibited and made available (according to the artist’s wishes) to an invited public at the end of the stay. Whilst all mediums are permissible, Installation, Performance, Literature, Music and the showing of Videos are particularly encouraged. Collaborations between artists are also encouraged.
