The colours was choosen from light palette, because of the decreasing sizes of the windows from the upper level to bottom. There is only one type element, the floating floors what have the dark ebony wood paneling, which is itself tough with a thin slab under. Its in harmony with the stairs and the shelves and all other built furnitures in the interior. Interior design for a greek tower - project in the portugese university ESAD

The exterior of the tower keeps its own lushness, and to make it more harmonic and due to lack of space, in the biggest surface there is a vertical garden. It gives fresh breeze, and calm the strengh of the stones outside. The shutters are also made from wood, the light version of the ebony.

The main line of the project for designing the interior, was using the stairs as a variable furniture. The tower itself is a thin and tall building, and because of this, I was thinking about a solution for the stairs which take the less space from the inside. The caracole is the type of the stairs which meets all the expectations. Instead of the classical, the quadric type was used here, for the big shape of the arch had WR EH EURNHQ ZLWK VKDUS OLQHV ,WnV WKH EHVW FKRLFH ZLWK WKH shelves what run through the whole inside, starting with the exteriors, the terraces and ends in the roof. These shelves are turn into the bed, and also parts of the kitchen, and of course the bookshelf itself. The wooden materials are all made from ebony, the dark and a light version of the material. The purity of the ebony breaks the elemental form an texture of the original stone. Caused by these lines the interior has a special rhythm, with the pure whitewashed walls, the concrete and with the original stones, which the house was made from. According to this alternation, bigger white shapes were formed in the inside, not just the walls. The bedroom has the property, that it can be placed a darker part of the building. Caused by the small windows, this tower has it in the groundfloor. Broken the darkness the room itself is the light cube. In this case the top gave himself for being the dining room with the feelings of the cellars under the arch.

SURVIVORS’ WALL The installation called Survivors’ Wall would be exhibited in the last room of the permanent exhibition of the Memorial Center. Twenty videos, selected through a pre-selection process, would be projected onto the wall, showing interviews with survivors or the survivors’ relatives simultaneously. This is an interactive surface. Two cameras installed at eye level on the two sides of the projected surface would detect the visitor’s head movement, and upon the visitor’s firm movement (nod or hand gesture) the selected video

would move forward and fill the entire screen and start from the beginning, with sound. The installation can be controlled from a given place, thus many visitors can view it but only one can control it. The installation provides an opportunity to the visitor to become familiar with personal fates in such a way that the visitor himself, by making minute movements, makes the decision, thus creating a unique and intimate “proximity with the life story of another human being. Later other contents may be uploaded onto the program controlling the projected surface. To get the visitor even more involved, an interactive book of memories is also installed.

A touchscreen is placed next to the installation where the visitor can tell his feelings about the exhibition or even his own story or his family’s story through a camera, in a kind of “skype situation”. This video is placed into the same kind of split screen environment both on the touchscreen and on the wall. The visitors willing to use the book of memories in the classic way can leave a message in the book with a drawing tablet and this message will be incorporated into the same split screen, in a browseable manner, just like the videos. Technical needs of the installation: one projector, preferably the same type as the others used throughout the exhibition, three cameras, one touchscreen, one drawing tablet, and two stands for the touchscreen and the tablet.

We would arrange the editing of the materials and the programming of the interaction on our own, but would like to ask for the help of the Memorial Center in making the installation. The work would be implemented in close cooperation with the IT associate, the head of the Archive of the Center and Zsuzsanna Tรถrรถk.
