Timing the celebration. Everyone starts arriving around 7, so there’s a while ahead of us until midnight. The gallery (the space between the dining room and the kitchen) is the hub for early nibbles and sips arranged on my 18th century Nantucket Red farmhouse table. A festive vintage quilt sets the tone for the star of the table: an overscaled antique pine board that’s laden with artfully styled cheeses and treats.
