My fascination with food, chefs, and individuals who are driving innovation in the food space really spawned from my trip to the East Coast this Fall. My two week trek in Toronto and Montreal - where I would visit 6 restaurants or bars each day allowed me to digest the difference between the two coasts. It’s pretty massive.

On the trip back to Vancouver, I glossed through the complimentary travel magazine in front of me. Even with the travel bug still in me, I found myself flipping through only giving attention to the pictures and headlines. This made me think about the gap between the food industry and the desires of the modern diner. When I see how people discover new restaurants or decide which dish to choose from a menu, it is always from some sort of visual medium like Instagram or a review like Yelp. In today’s social media-first and visual-first generation, Noms Magazine is created to appeal to the modern diner and be a platform to connect restaurants and people. The first one is always the most difficult. There were many grand ideas planned for Volume 1. But stripping it down to keep it succinct and condensed was the route we chose. Everything is still a test - the style, the layout, the features which will make Noms Magazine dynamic and fresh each time. Feast well,

To me, French food and winter go hand-in-hand which is why a meal at Au Comptoir is a must, especially after a successful holiday shop along W 4th!

For a hearty, rich nom session, you can’t go wrong with the decadent @burgoobistro grilled cheese - it’s ooey gooey #CheeseLove perfection!

There’s nothing I love more than gathering with friends and family over the holidays and consuming copious amounts of food. The chicken cheese hot plate at Mukja Korean Cuisine is the perfect dish to share with a large group, but it’s the CHICKEN WINGS that are to die for.
