THE THE ART ART ISSUE ISSUE
RIOT GENERATION ZINE NUMBER TWO. this is an issue about art. i feel as if art is a very broad subject, like, i was thinking about just using loads of surfing photos. surfing is an art. but then what would i be able to do for the surf issue... and plus, thats bullshit. people will pick up this thing wanting to see drawings and paintings and shit. so i guess thats just what i will have to give them, drawings andpaintings and shit.
TWO ISSUE eveyone loves a good ‘ol train bomb, and here’s a cracker from local man SNARL. if your into this stuff (you should be), then go check out his art space/gallery/paint store OPEN STUDIO in coffs. it’s a winner.
I WISH I KNEW YOU ok so this artwork (plus the cover) is by one of my very best favorite artists. his name is thomas campbell and he is from california.
growing up surfing and skating around southern cali, thomas got well into the skate/street art/punk/hiphop scene flourishing in the area. this all shows prominently in his art. thomas has had exhibitions all over the world, also directing music videos (the shins - new slang, my idea of perfection) and three feature film length surf movies the seedling, sprout and the present. www.thomascampbell-art.com
