PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Dear Coronado Key Club Members,

My name is Jasmine Mortero and I proudly serve as the 17th Coronado Key Club President! I hope to serve my home club as well as Division 28 East to the best of my abilities throughout this upcoming term. Key Club has offered me numerous opportunities as well as shaped me into the leader I am today. I hope to BEE an influential figure to the Key Clubbers I serve as well as the community around me. I look forward to the new term and the adventures it holds.                             "Inspired to serve, serving to inspire."

JASMINE MORTERO PRESIDENT

EDITOR'S NOTE

Dear fellow Key Clubbers,

My name is Noah Alvarez the new Coronado Bulletin Editor. I've been in key club for three years now and I am so pleased to be the new Bulletin Editor. I'm very well excited for the next school year of 2019. I will officially commit to making newsletters and being part of amazing events. With everything that's happened so far in the year, I started to realize how grateful I am to be part of a community filled with friendly and kind people. This month, I started my Bulletin Editor training at OTC, it was a great experience for everyone on the board. It was also amazing to see many other faces there that had the same passion and desire for becoming a key club officer. I also want to say thank you to Alee Baldono for teaching me to make newsletters and for inspiring me into becoming a Bulletin Editor. Thank you so much for taking the time in reading my newsletter, and I hope you all had a wonderful year!

MEET CORONADO SENIOR REP  Hey Key Clubbers, I'm Mina Chia, Coronado Senior Representative. I think a huge part of Key club is OPPORTUNITY. When we are serving others, we are providing them better opportunities as we are trying to improve lives. Service doesn't just benefit the receiver, which is the amazing part. Throughout the year, Key club gives its members the opportunities to also have fun together. We all get to have a good time while creating new bonds. With the opportunity, you've all given me as the senior rep, I aim to stretch the arms of Key Club to our members to bring them closer and hopefully nonmembers included as we all serve together next year. I'm excited for the fresh new year,

06

full of opportunities, we all have together.

-Mina Chia

END OF THE YEAR INDUCTION BANQUET  What I liked about the banquet was the photoshoot. The photoshoot was a good bonding experience for the new board. When I went to the banquet I received a certificate that says director of service and a golden badge. I felt very proud to be taking the director of service position but was also nervous when Marian Espina delivered an amazing speech for me. It was very sweet and i am very grateful to be apart of key club.

5K Race for Hope and Fun Walk   At the 5k run, we held up signs with inspiring messages that motivated people to continue on. It was exciting getting to cheer on the runners with the other Key Clubbers along with giving high fives to everyone that ran by. My favorite part about the event was seeing how happy and motivated everyone was after they heard our signature cheers and chants towards them. I definitely recommend going to the 5k rin in the future or any marathon run in general because seeing the amount of people uniting to fight a cause is a

08

truly great incentive to join the fight.

-Jordan Truong

OTC I had so much fun at OTC, it was such a great experience to be around with every other key club members. In OTC, we saw the division presidents that gave a quick discussion about safe key and what key club is to the community. I learned all my position duties for being treasurer and it really prepared me for all the things that may come next year in terms of being treasurer. I really loved my instructors, they explained things really well, and to all the people that were in my group.
