Ministry Guide

Dear Friends in Christ, Jesus is very clear in his teaching. Christ chose to be a servant, and his followers are called to model their lives after his example. How can this happen to us in today’s world? Jesus spent nearly three years in his public ministry developing a close knit fellowship of persons. Eventually these disciples would become the foundational leaders of a life-transforming movement. The word disciple literally means “to be a follower of a teacher.” These disciples became servants because they listened to Jesus’ teachings and spent time together in fellowship with him and each other. Our goal at North Naples Church is not simply to increase attendance, financial contributions or number of volunteers. Rather, we are praying that each person in our congregation comes to view his/ her life through the lens of Christian servanthood. Certainly, we know that we feel good when we give time or money to help in the church. However, if we truly come to see ourselves as servants then much more happens in us ... and through us. It is transformational. We become living disciples of Christ who are ministering to others and being ministered to by others in His name. North Naples is a very large church and there are dozens of ways in which people can serve and be

served. These are all incorporated into our Ministry Guide. We are all different individuals and we have different gifts and interests. Please review the Ministry Guide to find a special place wherein you can be most effective in serving: in helping others and in finding joy in your service. Each person is important to the wellbeing of the church. Even in a very large congregation, each person is needed to serve in some area. As the Apostle reminds us, “we have different gifts according to the grace given us but we share in the same Spirit.” (Romans 12:5–8) We need you and we need each other. Together, we need to serve our Lord and others in the name of Christ. Blessings! Pastor Ted
