of spring in the community, with the town’s skating rinks on Williamson Lake filled with dozens of children, families and cops on a warm day. During monthly briefings to the Hamlet of Rankin Inlet’s council, detachment members had repeated that they’d like to have more involvement in the community but had been stifled lately by pandemic restrictions. Saturday’s event was celebrated by many on social media afterwards for the visibility and involvement of the police and the fun children had on the ice.
