Did You Know? Trivia

The look of the Trade Federation battle droids is partly inspired by African tribal sculpture. The appearance of the Naboo star fighters is loosely based upon a hairpin.

Goofs When Daultay Dofine says his first line of dialogue which is, "I knew it. They're here to force a settlement.", he speaks with the voice of Rune Haako, the Neimoidian who says, "Have you ever encountered a Jedi knight before, sir?"" shortly after. Soundtracks The Arrival at Tatooine and The Flag Parade Composed by John Williams

Quotes [first lines] Qui-Gon Jinn: Captain. Republic Cruiser Captain: Yes, sir? Qui-Gon Jinn: Tell them we wish to board at once. Republic Cruiser Captain: [to communication device] With all due respect, the ambassadors for the Supreme Chancellor wish to board immediately. Nute Gunray: [on view screen] Yes, of course. As you know, our blockade is

perfectly legal and we'd be happy to receive the ambassadors.

Crazy Credits The opening logo for 20th Century Fox is

static (to match the opening of Episodes 4, 5 and 6), instead of the animated 3-D logo used in Fox films at the time. The Fox logo also fades out halfway through the fanfare, and the final flourish is played over the Lucasfilm logo. Modern Fox films keep the company logo on-screen throughout the entire fanfare. Alternate Versions

In the theatrical version, right after Sebulba's name is announced in the podrace opening, there is a shot of Watto, in his booth, cheering on Sebulba with joy. On the DVD, this scene has been omitted from the actual movie on disc 1, but is still present as part of the "extended podrace sequence" on disc 2.

In the Ultimate Marvel Comics series, the character of Nick Fury is portrayed as African-American, with his look and personality tailored after Samuel L. Jackson, all carried out with Jackson's explicit permission. During one of the Ultimate Avengers issues,

while discussing the possibility of a movie being made about them, and which actors would play which heroes, Nick Fury comments that nobody else but Samuel L. Jackson could play him. Jackson, himself a comic book fan, played Fury in this movie.

Later on, the popularity of this character led Marvel to introduce this character into the mainstream comics as "Nick Fury, Jr.", the son of the original Nick Fury, in a move to work towards retiring the original from the mainstream universe.

Goofs (at around 5 mins) A magazine cover announces that Tony Stark 'takes the reigns' at his company, rather than the correct 'reins'. While some people have suggested that this is a pun, there is no justification for such a word play in this context.

Quotes Tony Stark: I feel like you're driving me to court martial. This is crazy. What did I do? I feel like you're gonna pull over and snuff me. What, you're not allowed to talk? Hey, Forrest! Jimmy: We can talk, sir. Tony Stark: Oh, I see. So it's personal. Ramirez: No, you intimidate them. Tony Stark: Good God, you're a woman! I honestly, I couldn't have called that. I mean, I would apologize, but isn't that what we're going for here? I thought of you as a soldier first. Ramirez: I'm an airman. Tony Stark: Well, you have actually excellent bone structure ...

Crazy Credits Part of the closing credits are seen against computer-graphic renders of armoured suits. One of the renders is an armour with a Gatling gun attached - the War Machine suit, which would appear in Iron Man 2 (2010).

Alternate Versions The version of the film shows in AMC Theaters as part of a pre-Avengers Marvel Phase One marathon features an exclusive intro from Agent Coulson, talking about the film and the character. These Coulson intros were later includes as bonuses in the Avengers Phase One box set.

Did You Know?

TIME magazine ranked Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of Turing #1 in its "Best Performances" list of 2014.

Goofs Kriegsmarine never sent 'hundreds of U-boats' as stated in the movie for any particular convoy, they simply never had enough boats. The total of German subs in Atlantic never reached 200 during WWII.

Quotes [first lines] Alan Turing: Are you

paying attention? Good. If you're not listening carefully you will miss things. Important things. I will not pause, I will not repeat myself, and

you will not interrupt me. If you think that because you're sitting where you are and I am sitting where I am that you are in control of what is about to happen, you 're mistaken. I am in control, because I

know things that you do not know.
