Founders’ Day Celebration
Welcome to our f riends and well-wishers, too! It is with extreme pleasure that we extend a hearty welcome to all of you who have come to help us celebrate Founders’ Day. We are excited that you are here to share this most blessed and praiseworthy worship experience of the year. We continue to be a church family united in praise. As you know, New Life is a place of faith, family, f riends and fellowship. Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all everyone, and especially those who are of the household of faith. A gain, we are anticipating a wonderful, spirit-filled time praising and glorifying God for all of His marvelous blessings bestowed upon us. We are very glad that you have the opportunity to come and share in the 39th Founders’ Day Celebration. May the Lord richly bless you for your faithfulness and the love you constantly exhibit. About the Preacher...Bishop Esaias Merritt At an early age, Bishop Esaias Merritt acknowledged God’s calling on his life and diligently began his work in the ministry at New Testament Church of Jesus Christ under Apostle James Garner Glover. His passion for serving is evident though his work as a Youth Minister, Youth Counsel Board Member, Minister of Music, Christian Education Minister, Chief Musician & Director of Worship & Arts and a Single’s Ministry Overseer. Pastor Merritt was licensed in 2000 and was ordained in 2002 by Pastor Glasper Nero at Spirit Creek Baptist Church. After serving the Lord in assisting other Pastors and serving as a planting pastor, God elevated Pastor Merritt to the honorable office of Bishop. He was consecrated October 31, 2014 through Independent Churches United by the Honorable Bishop Howard E. Franklin as Chief Consecrator. He serves as Senior Pastor of Macedonia Church of Grovetown and 1st Assistant to the Presiding Prelate of Independent Churches United International, Inc. Bishop Merritt attended Voorhees College; where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Organizational Management. He studied Music Education at Alabama State University; where he was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Music Fraternity. He later continued his studies in Theology at the Augusta Theological Seminary and Erskine Theological Seminary. Currently, he is working on a Masters of Divinity at City View Seminary. As a family man, Bishop Merritt is blessed with a beautiful & humble helpmate, Minister Greta Bennett Merritt and two amazing children, Zachariah, and Jade. His extended family includes all the young lives that he has touched during the growth of the Grovetown Ministry through powerful youth and teens ministry. He is affectionately known to some of the children as “Pastor Daddy,” a term coined by his daughter Jade. Bishop Merritt believes in Kingdom building through Christian education, fulfilling the needs of the community and building families. The Grovetown ministry is one that is built on the foundation of family, hence the ministry’s them: “Taking families for Christ and making families whole again”. The ministry’s goal is to become a community staple, where individuals of all ages can come, learn, grow, flourish and give back what they have learned.
