NORSE MEN’S BASKETBALL HISTORY TIMELINE THE 1996 NCAA II ELITE EIGHT (at Louisville, Ky.) • NKU and Cal State Bakersfield meet for the second time in three months on March 20 at the Commonwealth Convention Center. The Norse build a double-digit lead in the first half, but Cal State Bakersfield rallies and trails just 31-27 at the half. The Roadrunners eventually take the lead in the second half and own a 55-54 advantage with 10 seconds left. • Kevin Listerman grabs the rebound after a Cal State Bakersfield missed free throw and drives the length of the floor. Listerman penetrates the lane and finds his brother, Andy, open for a layup with 2.8 seconds left on the clock as NKU takes a 56-55 lead. Andy Listerman intercepts the ensuing inbounds pass and the Norse advance to the NCAA Division II Final Four against powerful Virginia Union.
