STAFF LEAVING Mr Harry Paget (RS/ Humanities) will be leaving us to do a PGCE course. Ms Gemma Whiteley (Science) will be moving to Devon. Mrs Debbie Storey (Maths) has been appointed as a Housemistress at Queen Anne’s School in Caversham.

CHANGE OF ROLES Mrs Ruth Frett (RS/ Head of Middle School) will be moving to become Housemistress of South House at Cranleigh School. Ruth will carry on as Prep School Chaplain, with a limited RS teaching load. Dr Chika Robertson (Head of Music) to take up a role as ‘Music Outreach Director’. Mr Colin Henderson will continue to teach History (and some English) at the Prep School on a reduced timetable.

NEW STAFF Mr Rupert Carne to be Head of Middle School (Form 4 tutor teaching Maths and English). Rupert was educated at Bradfield College, has taught for 19 years (most recently at one of the top performing Primary Schools) and is a keen football and cricket player. Rupert started after half-term this term. Mr Philip Waller (no relation!) to be a Form 2 class teacher. Philip was educated at Radley College, has a degree in English and Drama and is currently teaching in Australia. He is a keen sportsman and was Captain of Tennis at Radley. Mr Jonathan Simpson to teach RS and Humanities. Jonathan will also assist with the Chaplaincy. Jonathan was educated at Fettes College, where he was House Captain. He has just completed his degree in Theology at Durham University. He is a committed Christian, keen hockey player and is currently very involved with the running of the University newspaper. Mrs Catherine Beddison has been appointed as Head of Music at Cranleigh Prep. School. Catherine is married with a daughter and is currently Head of Music at the Hall School in Hampstead. Prior to that she had been Head of Music at Mount House and Winchester House Prep Schools. She has a PGCE and a Bachelor Degree in Music. She is currently also Musical Director for a professional choir and has been a Housemistress. Ms Lara Martin will join the Learning Support Department and will teach some English. Lara is currently Head of Learning Support at Oakwood School and holds a Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties. She is a qualified teacher and has also been Head of English.

Sarah Johnson will formally join the staff and will be a Form 4 tutor teaching in the Middle and Upper School. Sarah has a teaching degree and a BSc from Nottingham University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Special Needs Education. Sarah has covered staff absences and has taught English at the Prep School over the last few years.
