The all-new S-Class is a league in itself; so it is only fitting that the sales experience matches. With this in mind, the Sales Training team conducted a comprehensive and structured training, on the product features, advantages and benefits of the new S-Class. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services continues to deliver stellar performances. Innovative schemes have put popular models such as the C-class and the E-Class closer within the reach than ever.

Customers can not just experience their favourite car, but also personalize it with their style by using 'iConfigurator'. The 'iConfigurator' empowers customers to preview the entire range of Mercedes-Benz and AMG car portfolio digitally and experience the look and feel of the exterior paints, upholstery and alloy wheels. The all new 'Edition C' in India Mercedes-Benz India launches t he all new 'Edition C' in India Since it first made headlines as 'Baby Benz' in 1982, the C-Class has come a long way, with global sales crossing the 10 million milestone. MBIL marked the occasion with the launch of the all new Edition C at Mumbai on the 12th of November. With just 500 units of this sport and stylish vehicle up for sale in India, coupled with the use of high-quality materials such as sport seats with ARTICO/DINAMICA micro fibre upholstery in the interior and AMG styling, the Edition C promises to live up to its exclusive tag.

After long anticipation, the five red lights went off on October 27, 2013 marking the start of the 2013 Airtel Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. Earlier during the qualifying session, Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel took pole postion (P1) followed by Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton taking P2 and P3 respectively. Nico Rosberg finished in second place, scoring Mercedes' eighth podium of the 2013 season. However, given the tough circuit and an initial setback, Lewis finished the race in sixth place. Scoring an overall 26 points on the day, the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS team reclaimed second place in the Constructors' Championship on 313 points. This represented the team's strongest result since the Belgian Grand Prix in late August.

The SLK 55 is a statement of technological advancement with features like the panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control that can be darkened or made transparent at the touch of a button, as well as the full complement of the AMG handling package, AMG sports suspension, AMG Performance steering wheel and authentic sporty trimmings, sweeping lines and stylish seating mechanisms, intricately crafted to offer the pinnacle in luxury and comfort.

Mercedes-Benz has also enhanced the telematics and multimedia centre of the Edition C with features such as an 11.4cm multifunctional colour display in the instrument cluster. Navigation with latest maps now features as standard in Edition C. There is complete integration of the Audio 20 CD control and display with details featuring in instrument cluster display. There is also provision of fast zoom function with scale indicator and different view for maps.

Over 7.9 million key points of interest are featured, including fuel filling stations, Mercedes-Benz dealership outlets, museums, restaurants and hospitals.

My Mercedes - An interactive Service initiative!

LOC Workshop in Pune 2013 LOC Workshop in Pune 2013 (CKD Liaision Office Workshop) The bi-annual CKD Liaision Office Workshop was hosted by MB India. Mr. Eberhard Kern and Mr. Piyush Arora welcomed the guests during the opening session.

Representatives from South East Asian CKD Countries as well as Egypt participated in the event. The team was led by Mr. KarlHeinz Schweizer, (IPB/CPL1)who was also present in the workshop. Participants discussed ways and means to enhance cooperation at the Liaison Office in order to facilitate better and faster information flow. Liaision Office processes in different countries were benchmarked during the workshop.

Management Workshop-2014 "A 2 day Management Workshop in 2013 was held at Hotel Fariyas Lonavla on 2122nd Nov 2013 with the Board of Management Members, General managers and other key managers of MBIL and DFS. This was the 3rd management workshop in 2013 and this time facilitated by Mr. Swaran Sehgal of Grand Thorton. All Management Workshop-2014 held at Lonavala - 21-22 Nov 2013 the sessions were themedriven with relevant motivational examples. A series of brainstorming activities, group exercises, scenario-analysis were used for optimum participation. The workshop began with welcome of the participants and review of the '2013-Year of offensive' theme. It was agreed that in the given business conditions in 2014, the challenges would have to be addressed differently. The group agreed to call the year 2014 as the "Year of Excellence". In the concluding session, each department identified their broad goals, action-points and milestones to achieve excellence."

Mercedes-Benz India recently launched 'My Mercedes campaign', the fourth pillar of the 'Year of Offensive' strategy. The campaign was introduced at the unveiling of T&T Motors Gurgaon workshop by Mr. Kern and Mr. Chandavarkar. My Mercedes campaign aims to provide interactive engagement with Customers while also enhancing the overall ownership experience. It includes a number of After-Sales initiatives, briefly outlined here: •

India First: Launches convenient online service booking enabled even through smart phones and tablets using scanned QR codes.

India first: National Remote Diagnostic Centre- a unique concept where Mercedes-Benz technical experts in Pune assists technicians from any location in vehicle diagnosis with the aid of technology, taking control of the diagnosis unit through remote access.

Segment First: Star Care- Only luxury car manufacturer to provide 3 years of warranty as standard.

Industry Benchmarking: Re-enforced round the clock On-Road Assistance for three years after vehicle purchase as standard.

B-Class Service vehicles: 17 new B-Class service vehicles equipped with specialized tools for enforced On Road Assistance launched across India.

Every 90 seconds, 1 Mercedes-Benz Car is serviced and handed over to customers.

Impressive 25 Training Man days delivered per day for dealer's staffs to ensure high quality training.

StarDrive Experience, Pune

MB India celebrated Dussehra Puja on the shop floor on 13 October, with a lot of enthusiasm. Shastra puja is a fundamental aspect of this auspicious festival, and the workers observed this with a puja of the shastras of their trade: the equipment, machines and tools that they use in their professional lives.

Jaws dropping. Pulses racing. And adrenaline surging. This best describes the pan India Mercedes-Benz StarDrive Experience. StarDrive Experience held its Pune edition on the 7th and 8th of December, 2013. With total registrations of 398 customers, the total turnout almost doubled to 618 participants. The StarDrive Experience also witnessed 12 entries for the Slalom Contest and 59 total test drives. The event was held at MBIL's Chakan facility, where the participants were given a demonstration of the PRESAFE feature. The participants also witnessed an F1 simulator and SUV demonstrations on terrains that seem unconquerable!

Mr. Arora appreciated and thanked the team for the good performance and urged them to take on all upcoming challenges with the same enthusiasm and vigor.

MB Trophy World Final 2013

Sales Training - New S-Class product training

The Mercedes Trophy is a unique series of premium tournaments for amateurs, in which over 60,000 players from more than 60 countries took part in 2013. 33 Teams from all over the world, each made up of three players, contested the 24th Mercedes Trophy World Final. Team South Africa won the Nations Cup with a total of 189 points. Second place went to the team from United Kingdom with also 189 points, defeated by South Africa in Sudden Death, followed by the team from Mexico with 188 points. The winner of the Team Spirit Award, chosen by the participants, was the team from Australia. The special competition "Nearest to the Pin" was sponsored by Laureus Academy members and Brand Ambassadors Franz Beckenbauer and Boris Becker. In addition to receiving the Amit Thete with Arun Kishore Khanna from Delhi, M.P. Khanna amounts donated during the MercedesTrophy World Final, the from Delhi and Sameer Kanani from Mumbai Laureus Sport for Good Foundation also benefited from all the donations at the MercedesTrophy qualification tournaments played around the world. Mercedes-Benz is a founder member of the foundation, which tackles social challenges world-wide using funds raised through sport. It currently sponsors over 140 social projects worldwide, primarily aimed at helping children and young people affected by poverty, homelessness, war, violence, drug misuse, discrimination and AIDS.

In keeping with the exalted status of the all-new S-Class and, the people who will drive it, an insightful and structured approach was adopted for the product launch sales training. The training, which met the Global Training approach and methodology, consisted of Product Training along with Static Product Experience. The Focused Group audience – comprising GMs, HODs, Sales Manager, DITs, TLs, S-Class Specialist, KAMs, POC and C-Sales Certified staff - were invited to Hyatt Regency Hotel at Pune for the event, which was conducted by the Sales Training team.

Adrenalin racing initiative Sony PlayStation in partnership with Mercedes-Benz announced in November - the 'Mercedes GT6 Racing Championship', a multicity race gaming championship on the PS3 console. Enthusiastic gamers participated in the virtual gaming championship from their very own cities through 42 exclusive PlayStation zones.

The partnership saw Gran Turismo branded coveted Mercedes-Benz cars moving around in the cities of Mumbai and Delhi – providing a real life experience of the cars that make the Gran Turismo game so exciting to play in the virtual world. Sony also unveiled the "GT6” on 6th December, 2013, in Mumbai to coincide with their global launch.

A special “Orientation-cum-Preview” session was held for the DPs and CEOs wherein the various features and USPs of new S-Class were presented. Around 249 participants from 21 dealerships received training on the product features, advantages and benefits of the new S-Class. In addition to a first-hand preview of all new S-Class, competition vehicles were also made available for the Static Exploration & Competition Comparison.

Skip- Level Integrity Dialogue The Management Development Programme at Lonavala kicked off with the first of its kind Skip-Level Integrity Dialogue between the CEO - Mr. Eberhard Kern and the Leadership Team. Mr. Kern in his address to the participants emphasized that integrity should always be a top priority in all our activities, business or otherwise. Even though the Monitorship has ended and Daimler achieved the best results, Mr. Kern underlined the need to sustainable compliance.

Open Day Our annual OPEN DAY of 2013 was celebrated amid much enthusiasm on November 24, 2013. CRM Department takes a new step as entire dealer network appoints a new HOD CRM position at every dealer location. The primary responsibility of this position is to take care of entire CRM activities in their location. Key responsibilities of these heads include Sales Funnel, Complaint Management, Sales & Service Satisfaction Index and detailed analysis of all CRM activities. To kick off a better functionality and information of this position, a 2 days' workshop was conducted at Mercedes-Benz India in December 2013.

CRM Department also introduces a new guideline with Goodwill & Empowerment Matrix. With the help of this matrix, Dealership Personnel at different levels are empowered to take a decision on customer complaints. This will vastly help in avoiding customer complaints escalations at Mercedes-Benz India or Social Media. This empowerment is linked and formulated with CRM KPI's as a measurement factor.

Employees and their families were ushered into our festive premises with reverberating 'Dhol-Tashas', traditional Maharashtrian drums. Guests could choose from among a wide array of entertainment that was conjured up for the evening; be it a walk through the workplace and shop floor or a kids zone with a jungle theme or games stalls or the live performances on stage! Half way through the evening, the lucky draw winners were announced and 3 delighted employees, Amit, Sambhaji and Ketan, now look forward to their day in a chauffeur driven A, B or C-Class car! The evening drew to a close with everyone partaking of a sumptuous buffet with a menu that added some more flavor and spice to the event! Truly a wonderful display of team work by our cross-functional organizing committee that made this day so memorable!

ABCI Awards

AAP Leadership conference The 2013 DFS AAP Leadership conference was held in India. The conference began in Chennai with a tour of the DICV plant, followed by a full day conference. On the 3rd day the entire team visited MB India plant. The conference kicked off with a welcome address by Mr. Eberhard Kern, CEO & Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz India. Mr.Richard Howard delivered an insightful talk on DFS team with Mr. Eberhard Kern at MB India plant Game Changing leadership approach. The session included a MercedesBenz Financial update by Mr. Prasad Salunke, Head Sales & Marketing and a thank you note from Mr. Sidhartha Nair, MD of Daimler Financial Services to everyone. Later, the entire team participated in activities, including an off-roading experience at the specially designed SUV track and a special preview & presentation of new S-Class.

Organized by the Pune International Marathon Trust, this year saw more than 70 international marathoners including World champion athletes from over 15 countries and almost 50,000 domestic athletes. Among the participants were our very own 24 employees from MB India, MBRDI and DFSI who enthusiastically participated in this event on Sunday, December 1, 2013. Congratulations to the super-5 who ran the 10 km distance and the enthusiastic-17 who were part of the 6 km 'Fun Run' ! The Mercedes-Magazine won a gold and a silver award at the recently held ABCI awards in Mumbai. These awards were in the Best External Magazine (Gold) and Best Design (Silver).

three dots On this fateful occasion, … years ago, Sachin sped to work on his motorcycle, intent only on completing some of his e-Dealer tasks before heading home to spend the holiday with his wife. But fate, in the guise of a stray dog, crossed his path, with disastrous results. In his vain attempt to avoid the dog, Sachin, crashed into the concrete road divider, injured his head and fell unconscious. Quick thinking and quicker action on the part of good samarithan Swapnil Madane and some passers-by, helped save his life. Awakening from a 10-day coma, Sachin began his long journey on the road to recovery. Behind each step, were his ever supportive and caring family and the numerous medical staff, friends, colleagues and well-wishers. Today, Sachin is back at work, cheerful and smiling; working almost feverishly, as if to make up for lost time. His message to all is: Safety First! For, had he worn his helmet and put safety first….maybe his experiences would have been different… We salute you Sachin for your grit, determination and sheer will power! You always said “No matter how tough the situation is, never forget to laugh” and you've lived up to your philosophy. We wish you the very best for the future!

Suggestion scheme award ceremony Our Suggestion Scheme Award Ceremony was held on October 31, 2013. 64 employees received awards for 127 Idea Suggestions. Kudos to Shivaji Bhilare of Assembly Line, who was the ideator of 12 suggestions! He is an inspiration to us all for 'Out-of-theBox' thinking.
