Northern Ireland Construction Bulletin 1st January to 31st March 2010 Date: 18 August 2010 Coverage: Northern Ireland

Theme: Business and Energy

Please note that any changes in output are now described in percentage changes, relative to the previous quarter. Also a new set of deflators have been applied to the whole series so that all quarters information have been revised. This will mean that the historic index will not match previously published figures. Any feedback on both the information content and the formatting of this bulletin would be greatly appreciated. Feedback can be left by filling out the short online survey on the Quarterly Construction Enquiry website at http://www.csu.nisra.gov.uk/survey.asp11.htm The total volume of construction output (in 2005 prices and seasonally adjusted) in the first quarter of 2010 fell by 3.2 per cent compared with the fourth quarter of 2009. From the same quarter in 2009 there has been a fall of 7.8 per cent. New Work fell by 4.4 per cent while Repair and Maintenance rose by 1.0 per cent from last quarter.
