Portfolio 1

artist statment

I got my bachelor degree on Academy of fine arts

and design in Ljubljana. I also went to Zagreb for one semester to study animation on their academy. In my spare time I learned how to use almost all Adobe programs like Illustrator, Indesign and Premier. And currently I am going to an animation course and I got accepted on ALUO again for my Masters degree.

My strenght is creativity. I always try to learn a

new program, skill or theory that will improve my work. I have a vivid imagination but I understand its limitations. I know how to present an idea and finalize it. I like to work in a group. In my portfolio you will see a progression or work, from classical drawing of nude, to eerie animals. I also put stills of my animations and 3D models. Thank you, Nina. 2

Computer edited and generated art I wanted to progess from drawings, paintings and collagues so I started to teach myself programs like Gimp, Krita, Illustrator and Photoshop. I experimented with different tools that computer programs have.

3

You are going to see a series of illustrations, firts drawn by pen and pencil, then transfered in Illustrator and edited. Each animal represents a diferent emotion or feeling. This bull is determination.

4

Both lion and monkey are friendliness.

5

The frog represents relaxation. His eyes are red because he is staring at the sun.

6

Fourth animal represents focus.

7

Fifth animal is worry.

8

Penguin is sadness,

9

Mouse is patiently waiting for something.

10

Illustrating a poet*s love affair with a young girl. The growing distance between them shows their love fading.

11

Having nightmares and insecurities about sex and relationships.

12

To represent myself with an image.

13

Stop-motion animation I have been learning to animate for the past two years. It is in my interest to understand movement and how to achieve good, believable movement. From micro-animation to very experimental animation and classical drawn animation. The best way I can describe my thoughts when I animate is, ITS ALIVE!.

14

Practise from Zagreb. Done after a Disney character.

15

Greek story about Zeus and Knosos. A rough sketch for animation.

16

First animation that I made. It is about two fishes where one saves the other. It is collage and drawn animation.

17

Two people are sitting on a bus station. One of them tries to take something from a bag. He finds a bell. When he presses it he disappears. The other one is left in shock.

18

Animation is about how something is made out of nothing, how that nothing becomes something and how everything goes in a cycle, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. 19

The animation is about the devastating consequences of industrial pollution on nature. At first we see the natural cycle of plants growing. Then we see how gasses pollute the environment and how it effects the plants.

20

Study of speech.

21

Study of speech and head turning.

22

Person on right says: I like dots more than lines. The left one is shocked.

23

After Effects animations After Effects animation is really specific, it is different from stop-motion collage. I started to animate with pivot points, position, scale and pins.

24

Animation after a poem from Slovenian poet Adi Smolar, Graves.

25

As you know, Fb collected a lot of data illegally and even helped with the election of Trump. Invisible/Visible is about that illegal data collecting.

26

Basic knowledge of program Blender From basic shape of a cup, to a complex model of a heart. My skills with Blender grown each time I decide to use it for a project. I adore the simulation of 3D space. To sculpt an object in Blender takes time and patience but the end result is usually amazing.

27

Study of shading and emission node in Blender.

An idea for landscape in game.

28

Wood was created with node Trees in Blender. I got textures on a web page where they were free. This model was also created for a game.

29

Hearts beating together was the main projection for Svetlobna gverila festival.

30

Blood vessel animation for Svetlobna gverila festival.

31

Black, white and grey I wanted to explore the border of real and imaginary. When real and imaginary collide we experience uncomfort. And this uncomfort I tried to achieve with the following illustrations.

32

Eerie but familiar, cute but weird, they could exist.

33

Study of The goblin shark.

34

Gif animation of a skeleton goat breathing.

35

The only thing colored is a lady, because she is the one that carries all the different images in her mind.

36

Nude Drawings and Paintings Starting my portfolio with nudes done with charcoal and acrylic paint. The challenge was to understand body in space, how to use black and white as a tool to create a plastic 3D shape on a flat surface.

37

Drawing of nude with charcoal.

38

Black and white study of body with acrylic paint.

39

Series of bodies trapped in the image. Bodies of different ages and sexes.

40

41

I explored what else can the body be. One is body and/or skeleton, and the other one is a body/tree.

42

Watercolors In the next chapter you will see paintings done with watercolors. I studied different types of fish and their environment.

43

44

45

46

47

48

Illustrating peace and sleep.

49

Homes.

50

Bull.

51

Self-portreit I was always interested in my perspective of self. I do not think that a person is defined by others. I think only you can define yourself.

52

Pirate self

53

Almost everyone is obsessed with selfies. Even me.

54

Studied movement in a still image.

55

Done after my ID card image.

56

Feeling green, color of calmness.

57

White Noise.
