No matter what you crave or when your hunger strikes, ECU Campus Dining has everything your taste buds desire. Our dining locations feature everything from all-youcare-to-eat buffets, to food courts with national brand restaurants, to regional concepts, to late-night eateries. Whether it is American, sushi, pizza, Mexican fare, or a good “home” cooked meal you crave, we have it all right here for you on ECU’s campus.
Green Fact: We are trayless in our dining halls. It saves water, food waste, cleaning chemicals & electricity.
Meal plans are designed for your convenience, budget, and taste buds. ECU Campus Dining offers a variety of meal plans to fit your busy schedule. Eat in or take out - our meal plans give you the best value around. Use your meal card at any of the all-you-care-to-eat restaurants and retail locations. Purchasing a meal plan will ensure that you will not run out of “food money” at the end of the month. You will be able to take advantage of the meal plan specials, and enjoy a variety of tasty nutritious meal options.
Selecting a meal plan is easy. Consider your daily routine...Do you eat three meals a day? Will your class schedule, studying, extra curricular activities, and social events interfere with dining? Will you miss dinner due to employment or evening classes?
Meals can be used in any dining location.
Benefits to Having a Meal Plan Budget: You never have to worry about running out of ”food money” at the end of the month. Once you buy a meal plan, your plan is inflation-proof. Health: Studies show that students on a meal plan eat healthier and are more satisfied with their dining experience. Even commuters are more satisfied with a meal plan than having to juggle meal planning on their own. Value: Whether it’s the ability to get seconds without paying extra at Todd and West End Dining Hall or a great deal at many of our retail locations, campus dining offers a world of value. The money you save always comes in handy. Convenience: With so many dining locations, great food is just a short walk from anywhere on campus! Time: Studying, shopping for food, cooking, and cleaning up all takes valuable time. College life is hectic enough. Let us prepare your meals so you can spend your time doing more important things.
When dining at Todd or West End Dining Halls, one meal is deducted from your balance. As an added bonus, meals can also be used at any other campus dining locations. Just let the cashier know that you would like to use a “meal” to pay for your purchase and the meal equivalency rate for that period will be deducted.
Meal Equivalency Rate Breakfast
9:01 p.m.–close $2.00
Meal equivalency is the cash equivalent of a meal. If you eat lunch at one of our a la carte locations, a “lunch meal” is worth $3.00 toward your purchase. If the purchase is over $3.00, you pay the difference with your Pirate Bucks account, cash, or credit card.

FAQs Frequently Asked Questions What are the benefits of a Meal Plan? Don’t worry about cash or credit cards and save on your dining purchases whenever you use your meal plan or Piratet Bucks. Meal plans and Pirate Bucks are accepted at all Campus Dining Locations. Which meal plan should I get? Our most popular meal plan is the Pirate 14, but it depends on your eating habits. What will my meal plan cover? You can spend the allowed retail credit for each meal or you can choose a daily meal plan combo at the place of your choice. Can I carry over my unused meals to the next week? It depends on your plan. If you have any of the Pirate Plans, you have a set number of meals per week; at closing on Sunday night, your unused meals for the week expire. However, if you have any of the Commuter Plans, you have a set number of meals per semester and they rollover week to week, but not semester to semester. All meal plans conclude at the end of the semester.
Will my Pirate Bucks rollover to next semester? Yes! Any unused Pirate Bucks from the fall semester will rollover to the spring semester. However, unused Pirate Bucks from the spring semester will not rollover to the next fall semester. What do I do if my Pirate Bucks are running low? The same thing you do if your debit card balance runs low, simply make a deposit to your account by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Go to the Campus Dining Office in Jones Residence Hall, tell them you want to replenish your Pirate Bucks and they’ll take care of you. You may also call (252) ECU-FOOD to get redeposit options or go online to www.ecu.edu/campusdining and follow the Pirate Bucks link. Can I use my financial aid to pay for a meal plan? If you receive financial aid, you may waive payment for a Meal Plan until you receive your aid. To do so, the Office of Student Financial Aid must issue a deferment through the cashier’s office.
