Closest Hospital

Admin InService Attendance

The new Closest Destination mobile software application, referenced by Steve Vandeventer during January InService, has completed bench testing and is now ready for limited deployment this week. Five field units will be tested for functionality and accuracy for one week. If all tests well, full fleet deployment will begin the week of April 2nd.

The Public Relations Department has a brief presentation for the entire Agency which will be given during March InService. If you have not already done so, all Office Admin are advised to please attend one of the remaining InService sessions this week. The presentation will be brief and should take no more than 30 minutes. Below are the remaining InService dates for the month of March: 

Monday, March 26th at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM



Wednesday, March 28th at 6:00 PM



Thursday, March 29th at 6:30 PM

**The PR Department has made arrangements to ensure CMED attendance to the brief presentation over the course of this week.**

As a reminder, the system will display the closest facility based upon the patient identified conditions of ROSC, STEMI and trauma. The closest destination information is located at the bottom of the incident information. Please contact Operations Manager Todd Sims at todds@medic911.com if you have any questions.

If you are unable to attend an InService this month, a brief description of the PR Department presentation will be featured in the April 2nd edition of the Dispatch. Thank you for your cooperation.

Latino Outreach Committee Hard At Work Members of the Latino Outreach Committee continued their work at the Our Lady of Guadalupe free clinic on Sunday, March 18th. Paramedics Julio Lizarazo and Andrew Chamblin and EMTs Matt West and Yolanda Edmonds helped check-in dozens of patients and assisted physicians with clients. Clinic staff members say the group has been a tremendous help during busy clinic hours. Also last week, EMTs Lester Oliva and Angela BreedenAlvarez and Paramedic Tyler North spoke to a group called Enlace. The group is made up of key stakeholders in the Latino community, including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The group spoke about Medic and the new Latino Outreach Committee. The response from the presentation was extremely positive. At least one group has already requested a CPR class and others have expressed interest in touring Medic.

Performance Pay Update

Calling All Community Service Leaders and Volunteers!

Results of the new Performance Pay Tracking period have been calculated. All areas are tracking well with the exception of patient satisfaction. Our current score stands at 67%, so we are just one point shy of our goal. The good news is that there is still plenty of time to make improvements in order to raise our Patient Satisfaction score. Regardless of the type of medical concern a patient we treat is dealing with, they still judge the level of service they receive and they very well may end up on the other end of one of our patient satisfaction surveys. Please continue to deliver the very best in excellent patient care and use AIDET when interacting with patients and their families as the group performance payout is heavily tied to overall patient satisfaction. Remember, priority one patients count on clinical care while priority three patients often need compassion. Thank you for all that you do to help Medic succeed as an Agency. We couldn’t do it without you!
