Terrene is a proposed canalside lifestyle space harbouring food therapy alongside the new generation of food sustainability. Based in the Grade II listed Congregation Chapel in the Urban Heritage Park of Castlefield in Manchester, the chapel was a challenging and enriching site for basing my final major project. The concept emerged from dedicated research around COP26, meat consumption and adverse lifestyle changes brought through Covid-19 . Through Melā, Terrene aims to achieve a space that merges the Terrene Manifesto with wellbeing and sustainability. Through series of activities and foods, the visitors are curated to engage with the space, to create and make. The main feature for Mark Addy takes inspiration from the geometric forms and adjacencies of the site alongside the cultural notions of eating together. The intersecting furni-tecture enables activity to be engrained coverged at the site, encouraging social interactions, creativity, collaboration and excitement.

Introducing an intervention that creates an environment focusing on interaction with the outdoors will transform the current lifestyles of the residents where movement, health and wellbeing are prioritized. Focuses on age-in-place facilitated through the design of homes and shared spaces on an established city community, developing a radical refurbishment in dialogue with residents - smart interventions and interactive landscape.

Adhering to the IKEA Sustainability 2030 goals and working closely with IKEA Manchester, our group focused on implementing the sustainability goals through focusing on educating the future generation. Atelje´Ungar is an interactive, educational and fun intrusion to IKEA Manchester, focused on informing and creating conscious future citizens.

Model Making is an essential part of the design process as it helps visually solve and showcase aspects of the proposal. I have experience in creating scale handmade as well as laser cut models, test models and sketch models.

Starting off any project, sketching is an essential part of the process. Throughout the stages of ideation, conceptualising and bridging gaps in design proposal, I frequently rely on sketching to help me express details and concepts to illustrate my design journey. I frequently sketch outside of university work as well.

Most of my illustrations are digital architectural prints or landscapes made primarily using Photoshop. This illustration here, La Muralla Roja, is made using the same method.

Working as a Co-Lead Designer for creating content for Creative Cultures Collective, a platform promoting diverse cultural representation in creative fields. The Collective’s manifesto made using Photoshop and InDesign. This project was fully headed by me.
