Building & Architectural Committee

Beautification News By Phil Cozzi, Chairperson

By David Stagg Chairman of the Building and Architectural Committee The Building and Architectural Committee hopes everyone had a great summer and enjoyed all of the amenities that our Community has to offer during the summer months. 2014 brings some new challenges and some carry over challenges from 2013. The old challenges are the refurbishing of the interior and exterior of the Member Services building. The refurbishing of the restrooms at the Top of the World facility is also still on the agenda to be done. The Building and Architectural Committee along with Management have identified the roads and storm water areas that will be worked on in 2014. Repairs to the Woodbridge Drive East Bridge are also planned for 2014. The line painting project will continue in 2014. All roads that were under construction during 2013 will be painted this year along with any roads that need to be repainted. For any Homeowner that would like to attend a meeting of the Building and Architectural committee, we meet at seven (7) pm in Member Services conference room on the Wednesday following the Board meeting. This year our first four meetings are scheduled for: January 15, February 12, March 12, and April 16. Please feel free to attend. With the winter months here please remember to obey our speed limits and drive with caution. We live in the mountains and road conditions can change very quickly and become dangerous. Enjoy all our Community has to offer and stay safe. The Building and Architectural Committee

First and foremost, special thanks to my committee for working so hard to get the new holiday decorations done by the end of November. They met two days in order to discard the old decorations and assemble the new wreaths and garland. Special thanks are in order for the volunteers who helped put up the decorations before Thanksgiving, especially since Thanksgiving fell a little later this year. Our maintenance staff also helped by putting up the large wreaths throughout the community. Their help is also so much appreciated! Steve Cruz from our maintenance staff installed our beautiful new light fixtures for our Top of the World Complex. Since our maintenance staff thinned out the overgrown vegetation around the building, we can all appreciate how attractive that complex actually is after all the outside renovations have been completed. Thanks Maintenance Staff for a job well done!! We got a head start on the landscape makeover at the Member Services Building by planting three cherry trees at that site. Next year, after the Member Services outside renovations are complete, new landscaping and hardscaping will enhance that area, tying it in with the work that was done at the main gate and the VIP area if the community. The planting bed just as you approach the Top of the World Complex is also going to get a major renovation. We certainly have a lot to look forward to with the approach of next year. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Beautification Committee or serving as a volunteer to help with various projects throughout the year, call Phil Cozzi at 588-0555.

Saw Creek Women’s Club By Robyn Long, President The Saw Creek Women’s Club meets the first Thursday of the month at 12:20 pm in the Top of The World Mountain Room for a great lunch, socializing and a business meeting. Our calendar year is September through June and our dues are $25; however, anyone joining mid-year will pay a reduced rate for membership. Some of the wonderful events we have planned for this year are - a bus trip to see the Cherry Blossoms in the spring, a Holiday Luncheon at Stroudsmoor Country Inn, and our Holiday Dinner/Dance at Pub 570. Also, don’t forget about our 4th annual Motown Dinner/Dance at the Top of The World Restaurant in May. We also have very talented members who share their creativity with us - last month we learned jewelry making and design. I would like to share this wonderful poem that really sums up what the Women’s Club means to me. Start with over a dozen smiles. Add a pint of pleasant days. A heaping cup of happiness. And a tablespoon of praise. Stir in lots of sugar. But, be sure to add some spice. A handful of good humor. Always makes things extra nice. Mix it all together ‘till you get a perfect blend. And you’ll have something special … Saw Creek Women’s Club my friend!
