Whilst taking a yoga break from my intense London schedule at that time I spotted a huge gap in the market and the potential for a massive and much needed life style change and literally whizzed off to design and produce in Bali. My first 7 collections, for women from all corners of the globe proved so successful - that I am now expanding globally. My online transactional web site has just launched and now I will be focusing on SEO and product placement. Prior to launching my first Nikini collection, I worked in Los Angeles and London as a stylist and as a costume designer for big brand commercials with award-winning directors. All in all my bikinis are not only inspired by life on Californian and tropical beaches but also benefit from more than 20 yearsâ€&#x; styling experience. All this experience has given me a very good understanding of the importance of fit, point of sale brand positioning, value for money and the incredible importance of repeat customers.
Marketing and Sales Strategy Millions of women flock to the beaches and pools of the world all year round. My customer is the woman (20-60) who knows style, quality and fit, knows she cannot get that on the high street and cannot afford (or doesn‟t want to pay) designer price tags. Nikinis hits that price point/USP between hi-end designer and „fast fashion‟ on the hi-street. The discerning woman now has the confidence to buy online and or prefers to try her bikini in private or in the sensitively designed fitting rooms of better boutiques rather than the hi-street where the fitting rooms are increasingly and more alarmingly uncomfortable with zero assistance from „sales‟ staff. When buying a bikini many women prefer to buy in a trusted Indie boutique environment where they rely on professional advice. These are my target outlets for brand establishing and moving forward.. A steady growth is the best business model for Nikinis as a start -up company with the intention of gaining multiple small orders rather than aiming too big too soon as I am aware of the huge pitfalls large orders can bring to a small company. Along with good positioning, a healthy consumer and Press following, the Nikinis brand could gain recognition in a manageable way. Dare I say an „organic‟ way…? Currently and for 7 years I have been working with the same factory in Bali. This has been a very healthy relationship. The proprietor and his talented team produce for Nikinis high quality hand finishes and low order minimums. He has a family run business that has had more than 30 years‟ experience as solely bikini manufacturers. He manages his staff beautifully which is reflected in the happy atmosphere at his premises. Well paid happy and respected staff = reliability, beautiful finishes and great quality control.
The current and growing trend of „boho chic‟ for many women across varied lifestyles is undeniably where my product sits.
My speciality is in reading this trend and interpreting it to the customers ever changing moods. With some help in sales and IT I believe Nikinis has a very strong chance of establishing within the current market.
