HISTORY OF LOS FLAMINGOS
Los Flamingos was the first course opened in 2000 followed by the challenging Alferini in 2007, complemented by the executive Tramores course in 2010. 2010. Flamingos Golf Club has attained international renown by hosting 2 European Senior Match Play events followed by the 2010. Ladies open. In 2003 Villa Padierna Hotel opened its doors and became famous due to its opulent Tuscany Palace feel and soon was frequented by a host of celebrities. Its status as a first class hotel was endorsed when Michelle Obama stayed there during her trip to Andalucia. The hotel is named after the owner's late father-in-law, the Count of Villapadierna (who once seduced Rita Hayworth). Arranz's wife, Alicia Villapadierna de Arranz, counts Marbella's royalty among her friends. Her mother was a pioneer of women's golf in Spain.
