Your route to success... HOW IT WORKS... Now you’ve chosen your route, we simply have to identify which path is the best for you to start on. A great deal will depend on your GCSE results this summer and we will finalise your path once you have those in August. Here’s how we will make that decision. l If you gain at least 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths with at least 2 at grade D or above, the intermediate applied path is for you. This is a one year path worth the equivalent of at least 6 grade Cs at GCSE and is based around a vocational course and a qualification in work skills. It leads to the advanced applied path, employment or an apprenticeship l If you gain at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including vocational courses and pass your GCSEs in English and Maths, the advanced applied path is for you. This is a two year path worth the equal to at least 3 ½ A Levels and is based around an applied or vocational qualification. It leads employment, an apprenticeship or university. l If you gain at least 5 good GCSE grades in a broad range of subjects including English and Maths, the advanced academic path is for you. This is a two year path of at least 4 A Levels. At the end of the path lies University study or employment.
