It is believed that this country will be attacked with nuclear weapons. It is required by law that you read this document and all information enclosed.

WARNINGS An attack on the UK is imminent. Emergency alerts will be broadcast on the television and radio, and instructions will be sent to your phone.

REMAIN VIGILANT AN ALERT ON THE TELEVISION 1. Broadcasting will be INTERRUPTED 2. The EMERGENCY TONE will sound 3. A STATIC emergency screen will be displayed (or the test COLOUR bars) 4. A VOICE-OVER will sound with instructions AN ALERT ON THE RADIO 1. Broadcasting will be INTERRUPTED 2. The EMERGENCY TONE will sound 3. A VOICE-OVER will sound with instructions AN ALERT ON THE PHONE 1. The EMERGENCY TONE will sound 2. INSTRUCTIONS will be displayed

CAUTION DO NOT IGNORE THESE WARNINGS. FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS IMMEDIATELY.

ACTIONS When you receive the alert, follow its instructions carefully and with immediate effect.

They will likely tell you to seek cover at once.

IF YOU ARE INDOORS 1. Send your CHILDREN to the fallout room 2. Switch off GAS and ELECTRICITY at the mains 3. LOCK your doors and draw curtains 4. Take your PHONE and a RADIO to the fallout room 5. REMAIN THERE until the all-clear is sounded IF YOU ARE OUTDOORS 1. TAKE COVER under the nearest shelter 2. If there is no shelter nearby, LIE FACE DOWN on the ground and COVER YOUR HEAD with your hands 3. When the fallout warning sounds, RUN immediately to the nearest shelter 4. BRUSH OFF any FALLOUT DUST before entering the shelter, and CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES if you can

Fallout protection shelters will be designated with this symbol.

Following an attack, they may be under lockdown and can refuse entry to outsiders.
