The job also provided me with plenty of opportunities to better my graphic design skills by creating posters and publications for the college to educate the student body on the initiatives coming down the pipeline from the administration and what events to watch out for.

At BNIM, Myself and 5 other interns spent the summer studying the Housing Crisis in Kansas City endeavoring to come up with business innovation that would enable a hypothetical firm to better tackle the crisis. The firm we came up with utilized vertical integration, pre-fab construction, and need based design strategies.

Kansas State University, Manhattan KS AUGUST 2021 - PRESENT At K-State, I am majoring in Architecture and have been challenging myself with 2 minors in Business and Leadership Studies. As of the Spring 2024 Semester, I have obtained my Leadership Studies Minor, and am in taking my final 2 Business Minor classes. Additionally I am involved in extracurriculars such as founding and operating a project material store with our AIAS chapter. I now serve as the chapter’s president and facilitate operations, advertising, and events planning for the chapter. I plan to graduate in May of 2026 with my M. Arch and two minors.

I worked to develop the AIAS here at K-State to increase its prominence, efficiency, and ability to improve the experience of the general student body of APDesign

I have been serving the National AIAS Board of Directors as a member and later chair of the Ethics Committee hearing cases of member misconduct and upholding the values of the organization at universities across the country.

Material Store Chair I AIAS KSU 2022 During my 1st and 2nd years at K-State I worked with the AIAS to develop a Material Store as a fully operational storefront providing model-making material to students at affordable prices.

Center for Kaw River Culture 3rd Yr - Fall 2023

The Center for Kaw River Culture takes a measured architectural response to its context, cultural conditions, and programmatic needs through an in-depth exploration of how space can be derived from numerology. In conducting research for this project, I found a paper titled Numbers in Native American Mythology by Oksana Y. Danchevskaya of Moscow State Pedagogical University, identified in the paper are the significance of 3, 4, and 7 and the relationships between them.

These pair up with contextual and cultural influences to create 2 overlayed spatial grids, one created by the orientation of existing city context, the other by the cardinal directions which sits offset by 20°left of project North. These two grids influence, structural, material, fenestration, and programmatic decision making cohesively throughout the project. The end result, is a series of diverse spaces in which the duality between context and culture are felt, in a serene environment providing opportunities to engage in the land of the site both visually and physically.

Aztec Theatre - Topeka 3rd Yr - Spring 2024

The Topeka branch of The Aztec Theatre marks the significance of the cinematic experience by expressing the masses of the theaters in contrast with the voids of lofted space left behind. The programs presence is reinforced by a hung 4’x8’ stone tile facade sitting over glazing that is set back 5’ from the corner of the urban fabric established by the building’s context.

On the interior, the path taken to each of the buildings 4 theaters is distinct to provide unique movie going experiences to visitors of the theatre. Additionally, the public stair of the building highlights the double height atrium connecting the lobbies on both floors of the building creating a continuous visual experience in all public spaces of the cinema.

Incrementum Apartments HS Sr - Fall & Spring 2020-21

In endeavoring to create an architectural work over the course of the senior year of my primary education, I began research into notable figures in the world of Architecture. I landed on two contemporaries known as Peter Eisenman and David Childs. These two Architects seemed to me to be diametrically opposed. One is fascinated with the deconstructive nature of post-modernism and how eccentricities of the art form can be literalized in Peter Eisenman. The other has endeavored to take on Architecture at the scale of buildings that pierce the sky in otherwise conventional forms with David Childs. The work I endeavored to create is the product of a thought experiment, what if they worked on a single project together? Such a product is found in ‘Incrementum Apartments’, A modern conventional mixed-use high-rise whose structure employs subtle deconstructivist ideals to create a program unique to its condition. The 70 stories of the tower encompass a 2-story retail mall, lobby, and 1400 residential units ranging from 1 bedroom to penthouse suites.

Council Grove Library 2nd Yr - Spring 2023

The Council Grove Public Library endeavors to explore the relationship between vegetation in the built environment and academic performance. The overall form is composed to invite vegetation into every outward view offered by the library. The teen collections occupy the west wing of the first floor indicating the libraries implicit relationship and demographic focus on the students of the Council Grove Highschool sited caddy corner from the library.

The main library entrance is located at the southeast corner of the building cementing the libraries focus on the high school.

The structure of the project is brick-clad mass timber to balance the influence of the context as well as an environmentally conscious overall carbon footprint. The mass timber in particular reinforces the buildings connection to the vegetation in the courtyard that is welcomed into the buildings center.

Interwoven Lives 3rd Yr - Fall 2023

Deriving its formal geometry from the existing social connectivity of Eureka, Interwoven Lives creates a space for that same form of interconnected community between residents. With a patio or balcony afforded to all 12 units on the property as well as shared views of the several courtyards and community garden on the site, there are multitudes of opportunities for the residents to grow closer and live happier within their community.

Each of the four unit block structures aggregate two-four units together in such a way as to create shared and private spaces for dynamic use by the residents. Additionally, wooden trellises are placed in just below the top of the first story of the unit blocks to drive circulation between courtyards and through entry corridors into the property. All in all, the project balances privacy and connectivity within a tight-knit rural community in dire need of reinvestment.

Professional Work Experience KGD Architecture - Summer 2023

At KGD Architecture in Washington D.C. I had the privilege of being involved in design work on Academic, Affordable Multifamily, and Science & Technology projects. I obtained skills and experience from the Programming and Analysis phase of Project Work, all the way to completing a Punch-walk for the Construction Administration phase.

The following imagery are examples of my work:

SoNYa Design Award Submission: Pictured to the left is SoNYa, (South of New York avenue), A mixed-use development that I put together an AIA Northern Virgina Design Excellence Award Submission presentation for over the course of my first few weeks at KGD. The spread contained custom diagrams and imagery such as fenestration assembly diagrams, and floor plans, that were used to communicate the nuanced design details of the project. This project taught me valuable lessons about design communication and graphic representation skills that have gone on to benefit my design capabilities.

2 Patterson Early Modeling and Code Evaluation: Neighboring SoNYa, I worked on early 3D form modeling of 2 Patterson and conducted preliminary research evaluating code compliant options for the service loading and second floor unit conditions at the back of the project.

Stoddert Terrace Feasibility Study: In collaboration with the DCHA, I conducted a early feasibility study and zoning analysis of their largest public housing property Stoddert Terrace for potential redevelopment of 68 townhouses into a safer, communal, neighborhood community.

Howard University CFAC Programming and Analysis: For a project that would combine the College of Fine Arts with the College of Communications at HU, I helped develop a 300 page programming and analysis book as preliminary research, program adjacencies, and early concepts were explored.
