he holiday season means something different for each of us. For me, it is a season of ‘one event to the next’. Whether that is family, fashion or just getting festive, this IS the time of year when your Little Black Dress (better known as the LBD) plays a major role in your wardrobe.
1. Conservative: Keep the jewelry feminine and dainty, such as pearls, stud earrings or thin chain necklaces. This can be worn with a thin knit front button cardigan that sits at the waistline or a blazer. Black or skin tone nylons are a great addition, not just for warmth but for coverage as well. Trust me — you’ll be proud to rock out with Jackie O inspo.
Having at least one LBD living in your closet can be a lifesaver; getting you through this season’s many occasions. The little black dress serves well as a flattering blank canvas, acting as a fashion chameleon, that can be changed up at a moment’s notice — from chic and elegant to fun and playful — depending on the mood of the event.
2. Casual: Throw on some ankle boots, a thick knit sweater and perfectly pin up the tousled mane into a messy topknot. Take off to the movies for date night — he won’t even notice the dress was from the night before.

To make things simple, I have put holiday occasions into five categories: conservative, casual, classy, sassy, and vamp. Each category will help guide you as to what the perfect accessory or styling might be appropriate. The LBD is meant to be of a clean design but can range in length depending upon your personal preference, style and age. What’s a ‘must right now’ and ideally works for ALL women, is a form fitting garment with a hemline just at, or slightly below the knee. This keeps you versatile and prepared for all occasions. 54

5. Vamp: Put it all on the line. Big hair — don’t care; full red lips to work with your hips; leather and your highest pumps. Marilyn began the path, so just keep strutting down it, with her in mind.
4. Sassy: Leave the layers at home and dare to bare just a little more skin. Add a bold pop of colour to the lip; it’s the perfect way to show your inner (restrained) vixen.
Remember that when you’re out shopping for that little black dress – look for sleek, simple, and classic. From there, build on the basic foundation by adding your own flair of fashion to the energy of the evening. From confidently classic to sexy siren, enjoy every luxurious minute of this LBD season.
