NUOVA ACCADEMIA DI BRERA Mascheroni barrack, Milano Tutor : Torricelli
The project was born from the Great Brera concept, aimed to make Brera a big pole of art in Milan and to create a new academy that can meet the space requirements that Brera can’t achive. The project is located in the ex Mascheroni barrack in the center of Milan and takes care of the pre-existences trying to integrate the new with the old through buildings alignment, perpesctive cuts and neatness of form. The three existing buildings are related to the project through the perspective openings, the central one that wants to be the main one is articulated by a series of septums two meter high that use the rate of the existing building pilaster by scanning the space they lead to the adjacent park by means of the perspective cut to convey a sense of openness. The other two existing buildings, instead, are mirrored in the two common areas with full height windows, thus becoming an integral part of the projected building. These two areas are used as main entrances and common areas, where the covered balconies overlook each floor. The project contains also a large theater on the ground floor, classrooms on the south side and laboratories on the north side to satisfy the space requirements of the Accademia di Brera. The designed building is articulated by a series of partitions that act as scenic backgrounds thus allowing the creation of large and luminous spaces, marking the space and defining it.

THE GREEN LINE Bastioni di porta nuova, Milano Tutors: Giuseppe Agata Giannoccari, Lola Ottolini
The project is based on the reconnection theme as a targeted action instrument on the contemporary city fabric and its artifacts. The project focuses on the Garibaldi district, a central area in the city of Milan, steel in need of more social life. In fact, the project is located near the Leonardo pits and wants to revitalise the place and its surroundings. Through small interventions of reconnection we tried to rebuilt an abandoned historical place. The project concerns the study of a “green path starting from different elevations that runs along the ramparts of Porta nuova and the wall of the Fatebene Fratelli Hospital. The wall is an integral component of the project because it is enriched with green vines and geometric shapes installations that create plays of light and sound with rainwater. The path is identified by a wooden flooring and a series of led spotlights making it safe even in the evening. The central part of the project is the existing tunnel that connects the two different spaces, in which it has been inserted a transparent and light volume characterized by metal IPE beams that sinusly move the structure; the glass was used to make the light slip throught inside. In addition, the structure was designed to appear less invasive, using a floating floor anchored to tunnel walls by beams. This place was designed as a rest stop, aromatic herbs shop and a small greenery library At the end of the tunnel we arrive to the small urban garden where one can relax in nature, and find out the last architectural volume that takes shape from continuation of the present tunnel forms and has the function of a direct sales and garden dedicated to the cultivation of vegetable place.

GRIFFONAGE Place du Griffon, Lyon Tutor: Eglantine Bigotte-Doll
Nowadays the memory is strictly numerical, everything is online, everything that happens is put online, photos, texts, appointments, letters and so on, everything is put on the computer or in the ‘’cloud ‘’. But it is a memory that is not destined to last forever and if one day the memory of the computer were no longer legible, would all vanish with a click like when it was loaded? Our project wants to increase the reading pratice through the reuse of books but with a more direct access to citizens, creating a new library function, a new form, with the characteristics of a free, dynamic and accessible square. This sqaure can offer different uses: a place where people can take a book at will and leave one to others as an exchange (boites à livres); or even more personal, offering others opinions, novels, and poems like personal writings that therefore will have free and open access to the world. We have chosen as a place of project a small square of Lyon Place du Griffon 69001. In the square there is a tree that we found fundamental for our project as it represents the memory of nature, as the trunk that is formed by several circles, and each circle represents a year, as the pages in a book represent something new and as a whole a story. Moreoveras tree roots takes the sap from the earth in the same way the city is founded culture and man history. The plan of the project has been defined as a square because it is the best representation of an institution like the library. Later, to shape it, we captured the sound of the square. recording it in four different points and then processing the data on grasshopper, transforming the sounds into solid geometric shapes. We joined this solid to the cube piercing it. Later we cut the cube in various layers making it like the sheets of a book one on top of the other. This creates the shelves where the books will be placed, making it light and not intrusive but at the same time the sinuous shapes create spaces for reading.

IL PRATO VIRGILIANO Tutor: Riccardo Campagnola
The design intent is to revaluate the entire square, bringing it back to be a Virgilian Lawn, adding some useful services not only for the neighborhood, but for the entire city. The drawing takes back the elliptical shape of the Giuseppe Roda drawing (landscape architect) along the axis that leads to the Filippini convent through the insertion of two arms articulated by a regular service mesh with a height of 4 meters (a measure that takes up the original base of the medieval houses adjacent to the square). The two arms contain services for the community such as shops, restaurants, which take advantage of the km 0 market and services dedicated to students such as bars and study rooms. The central lawn is dedicated to a large green area for exhibitions and outdoor fairs. To the north-east of the square, new residential flats are planned for students, aligned to the new elliptical shape built along the western boundary, while to the north-west there are two buildings for sourrounding services dedicated to university students, lined up with residences, framing the facade of the former Great Hospital, giving visibility to a building of great architectural and historical quality. The project proposal concludes with the reproposal of a theater in the same dimension and in the identical position of the Ancient Virgilian theater, therefore a prospective point of the ideal connection between the Virgiliana and the Filippini Convent, and a path along the historical walls architectural element of Mantova and visual connection with the Lake.

VERUNO COTTAGE Uno_a Architetti associati
During the internship at the Uno_a Architetti Associati I participated in the planning of a cottage renovation in the town of Veruno, NO. I was initially entrusted with the graphic restitution of the relief using a BIM system Archicad, theb working on plan and in elevation I assessed the status of the farm, finally I passed to the preliminary design phase. The client requested a subdivision of four similar-sized apartments with at least two bedrooms and a common area on the ground floor with a kitchen and dining room area under the porch. We tried to give each apartment an access to the garden and where it was not possible were created balconies.

TABLE Arch. Gabriella Cassandro
I collaborated on the design of an officetable, in particular I took care of the legs. I studied the shape starting from a 3D, trying to get a design that was noticeable but at the same time light and integrated into the surrounding environment but still having its uniqueness. The result consists of three folded sheet metal elements that intertwine to make the structure rigid but at the same time light.

PRIVATE HOUSE Arch. Gabriella Cassandro
The project is a recovery of an attic on the 4th floor located in the city of Milan. I collaborated with Arch Gabriella Cassandro in the starting from the first construction phases, drafting and design executive boards to be supplied to the construction site and I personally carried out site inspections to prepare the weekly progress reports. The building was in rough stage construction at the time of the beginning of the work, so I have actively assisted in the tracing of plasterboard planks and all the water systems. I participated in the drafting and tracing of the electrical system and a first phase of supplying materials (floors, doors, sanitaryware, gas fireplace). I also design the custom furniture and following the realization (bedrooms and kitchen) and collaborated for the interior decoration and furniture selection that is currently under way.
