Training Update – The

Learning Journey

• Learning Journey Stages Discover, Explore and Experience are now available

• NHS/HDS enrolment currently 55%

• Learning Labs open for managers to enrol staff or for staff selfenrolment

• Staff encouraged to self-enrol on days off

• If staff find classes are full, coordination with manager/scheduler is required to book on during a regular shift

• Please ensure staff are aware Learning Labs are mandatory for access

• Training team will be onsite to assist in enrolment process

The Learning Journey will include:

Discover – An introduction to the Learning Journey and the HIS Explore – Become familiar with the most used areas of the system Experience – Dive more deeply into your specific workflows through simulations

Perform – Learning Labs (Hands-on classroom training in small groups)

Adopt – Login Labs, Prescribers’ Favourites Fair, practice, and using the system at go-live with tip sheets and additional learning materials (practical use of the system)

THERE IS A NEW PROCESS TO ENROL IN LEARNING LABS:

the most interactive and exciting part of the Operation Monarch training plan

Follow these steps to get started:

1. Review instructions on how to enrol.

2. Review the HIS Learning Lab Catalogue, which includes course descriptions to understand what content will be covered in these courses.

3. Operation Monarch will also set up a Help Desk across NH sites and HDS for Learning Journey/Learning Lab enrolment. Please see the schedule here and below.

4. Please look for updates on the Operation Monarch Latest Updates page.

ACTION: Learning Lab enrolment should be completed by Friday, Aug. 16.

Training Update – Learning Lab Details

All about the HIS Learning Labs:

Dates: Learning Labs will be offered at multiple dates and times between September 16 and November 8

Locations: St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Welland sites (as well as Hotel Dieu Shaver for HDS staff and physicians).

Times: Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday – Friday; and 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturdays, for select classes. There will be no classes on September 21, October 12, and October 14.

Training Update – Learning Lab Details

Content:

• System Navigation: Basic training on how to navigate the new HIS, including logging in, accessing different modules, and using dashboards.

• Data Entry: Instruction on how to enter patient data accurately, including demographics, medical history, and clinical notes.

• Workflow Processes: Training will reflect some common workflows, such as order entry, medication administration, and discharge procedures. Training will not reflect all departmental workflows.

Format:

• Instructor-Led Sessions: Face-to-face sessions where trainers demonstrate the system and answer questions.

• Hands-On Practice: Opportunities for users to practice using the system in a controlled environment, with mock patient data.

• Assessments: Quizzes or practical tests to ensure users understand the material and can competently use the HIS.

Operation Monarch Learning Journey Help Desk

Operation Monarch will be visiting all sites across Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu Shaver to help you log in and get started on your Learning Journey.

Monarch Digital Dive-In sessions provide program or discipline specific information with a focus on high volume/high risk workflows identified in the Start Stop Continue document.

Sessions will be held twice a week, June through to October, with topics being covered twice in the same week.

Sessions will last 30 minutes.

• The purpose of Cutover is to transition the most crucial pieces of patient information from the old system (MEDITECH, Mosaiq, Clinical vision, paper, etc.) to the new system (Millennium), in order to maintain safe, uninterrupted patient care.
