A Taste of York City The fifteenth annual A Taste of York City, a fundraising gala benefitting the City of York’s annual special events season, will return to the Valencia Ballroom on Friday, February 24. The event celebrates York City and features a seated, served dinner with each course presented by a different downtown restaurant or caterer. The evening also includes live and silent auctions of experience packages that highlight entertainment and cultural amenities throughout the city. One of the most unique aspects of A Taste of York City is its use of table hosts. Well-known people in the community are recruited to host tables at the event. They are responsible for decorating the table in a theme of their own choosing and filling their seats with friends and/or colleagues. Since its inception, the event has sold out each year and raised a cumulative total of over $200,000 toward the city’s annual special events, which are free for the entire community to enjoy and produced without using tax dollars.
