THE 2012 SEASON FISHER CATS | OFF THE FIELD • #1 Attended sports team in Northern New England. • Total attendance since 2004 is 3,064,395; In 2012, the Fisher Cats announced an official attendance of 377,317. • In 2013, the Fisher Cats will celebrate their 10th Anniversary Season. • Welcomed one-millionth fan in 2007, two millionth in 2008, and the three-millionth fan in 2012. • Fans greeted the team with eighteen (18) standing-room only crowds. The 2012 season saw the largest April crowd of 7,681 on April 15. The Fourth of July attendance of 8,544 against the Portland Sea Dogs was the fifth largest in franchise history. That game was part of the largest three-game series attendance figure of 23,312 from July 4-6. • In addition to 71 Eastern League home games, Northeast Delta Dental Stadium hosted another 25,000 estimated guests for non-game day events such as high school and AAU baseball games, charity events, and private functions.
FISHER CATS | IN THE COMMUNITY • Since 2006, the Fisher Cats and the Fisher Cats Foundation have provided nearly $2 million in monetary and in-kind donations to over 3,000 non-profit organizations. • Fisher Cats/Community College System of New Hampshire Reading Challenge was presented to more than 55,000 students in approximately 140 schools in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Three schools were awarded a total of $5,000 for having 100% Participation. Since 2007, the challenge has reached more than 150,000 students.
• The Granite State Baseball Dinner, an annual charitable event, to date has generated more than $800,000 for the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock (CHaD), the Ted Williams Foundation, and the Fisher Cats Foundation. • Twelve college-bound high school graduates were awarded a total of $30,000 in scholarships. Since 2007, the Fisher Cats Foundation has awarded $170,000 in scholarships to New Hampshire and Massachusetts students.
FISHER CATS | ON THE FIELD • Nine former Fisher Cats, including five directly from the 2012 team, made their MLB debut with Toronto. In nine years, 61 players have advanced to the major leagues. • Shortstop Ryan Goins led the Eastern League and tied the club mark for hits in a season (158), the highest total for a left-handed hitter. • Pitcher Yohan Pino became the fourth pitcher in team history to accumulate ten wins in a single season. • Toronto Blue Jays Jose Bautista, Adam Lind, Brandon Morrow, and Ben Francisco all played in rehab games with the Fisher Cats. Red Sox outfielders Jacoby Ellsbury, Carl Crawford, and Ryan Sweeney played against the Fisher Cats with the Portland Sea Dogs from July 4-6.
