The project required me to select a topic and create a structural interface which should assist me and enable me to blend in with the environment/ site chosen while doing the choosen topic. I picked “eat” for my topic. Subsequently, I had come out with a myriad of prototype which helps me to “eat”.

MAKING

“l” bracket – Creating a ‘z” bracket to support the 2 plywood, one of which is used to seat and the other is using to place my food / beverage. Using 2 “l” bracket and using the bolt and nut to attach both together forming a “z” bracket. Hinges (connecting plate) – As the plywood is 2 separated pieces so the jointing must be strong to hold the weight, but with the use of wood glue it isn’t strong to hold the weight, so I decided to use the hinges to connect them together to further strengthening the joint. “l” bracket (smaller) – As I just drill the timber strip (4 stands) on the plywood top it is secure, but it can move back and fore so by adding on the “l” bracket it keeps the timber strip in place and not allowing it to shift back and fore. Timber strip – As the stand, I used only one timber strip initially but realised it is not firm enough and added another timber strip to further strengthen the base of the stand. The other reason for adding another timber strip is because im adding wheels at the end of the stand so the base

C AB’IN - T RE E @ C HA N GI BE A C H PA R K

I designed this cabin to allow user to enjoy the fushion of having a shelter cabin in a natural setting. The idea came from the concept of a tree house; intergrating the cabin and a tree, giving user a closer experience to the nature.

Hence, I designed the cabin with tree pentrating in the center to allow user to continue their activities while being sheltered and concurrently be able to experience the natural ambience with the rain washing down the tree.

During my visit to analyse the site of construction, I realised that there were frequent rain as it was the monsoon season. Most people had to cease their activities due to the rain and proceeding to the existing shelter far away.
