THE TRAININGS In line with our promise to have an even better and all-encompassing SRT, we aim to have 10 parallel workshops running concurrently over the course of the program. The trainings will be conducted in English, and include: 1. Training New Trainers (TNT) 2. Training Medical Education Trainers (TMET) 3. Training New Human Rights Trainers (TNHRT) 4. Ipas: Maternal Health and Safe Abortions 5. Violence to Victory 6. Public Health Leadership Training (PHLT) 7. From Idea to Impact: Activity and Project Management 8. OneHealth and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) 9. Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF) training 10. Capacity Building Kindly note that trainings are subject to change, depending on the response and participation

TRAINING NEW TRAINERS (TNT) This training focuses on providing students with a platform to gain skills and knowledge on soft skills required in not only our careers, but are also applicable in everyday life - such as public speaking skills, communication skills, presentation skills, time management and strategic planning... just to mention a few.

8

TRAINING MEDICAL EDUCATION TRAINERS (TMET) This workshop empowers participants to become more effective student representatives and advocates as well as learn how to teach others to advocate and lead when it comes to issues dealing with medical education and training.

IPAS: MATERNAL HEALTH AND SAFE ABORTIONS Unsafe abortion accounts for 13% of maternal deaths worldwide. Through this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about what we as future health professionals can do regarding these statistics to improve the lives of our women and young girls worldwide.

TRAINING NEW HUMAN RIGHTS TRAINERS (TNHRT) Human Rights are inalienable and apply to all members of the human family, equally and without discrimination. TNHRT aims to create ambassadors for human rights and humanitarian values within healthcare and the broader community by equipping medical students with the knowledge and tools to advocate for human rights as well as the relevant soft skills for training, inspiring and empowering others. 9

VIOLENCE TO VICTORY (V2V) The workshop will focus on gender based violence (GBV), where participants can learn all about this critical issue, including what GBV is, its causes and consequences, its relation to fundamental human rights and how to identify and support victims

FROM IDEA TO IMPACT: ACTIVITY AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT The overall goal of this workshop is to empower medical students to lead projects and activities that positively impact their community. This will be centered on the stages of project management.

PUBLIC HEALTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING (PHLT) PHLT is a training focusing on enabling delegates to be avenues of change on matters pertaining to Public Health; as well as inspire them to be innovators in health. The theme for the PHLT shall be Mental Health and will focus on Mental Health in the medical student workplace with a highlight on depression.

10

ONEHEALTH AND ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE (AMR) AMR has become one of the most challenging hurdles in the medical practice in the 21st Century. We have newer, more resistant micro-organisms, injudicious use of antibiotics, lax laws around the sale of antibiotics and high poverty levels that encourage sharing of antibiotics - join this workshop to learn more about what you can do in the fight against AMR.

EMERGENCY MEDICINE KENYA FOUNDATION (EMKF) TRAINING This training by the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation will cover the basics on what to do should one find themselves in an emergency setting such as road traffic accidents or natural disasters. Everything from the components and uses of a first aid kit to resuscitation protocols and management of victims of motor vehicle accidents will be covered.

CAPACITY BUILDING This is a training session that will be centered around mental health, aimed at helping participants become more eloquent, more resourceful and more confident versions of themselves. This workshop will address contemporary issues pertaining to mental health and help trainees build soft skills which they can utilize in every facet of daily life, including, but not limited to, self-care, time management and self-development.
