Great Things Are Happening at New York Medical College BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE • NYMC unveiled the state-of-the-art 21,000 square-foot Clinical Skills and Simulation Center, where students receive hands-on training in a replicated hospital setting to hone clinical skills in a safe and controlled environment before treating actual patients. • NYMC acquired 19 Skyline Drive, a 248,000-square-foot, five-story building providing essential space for offices and new programs. • NYMC launched a transformative biotechnology incubator, BioInc@NYMC—the only incubator of its kind in the region located on a medical school campus. • The Dr. Edward F. and Mrs. Anna M. Asprinio Fitness Center opened, offering a state-ofthe-art wellness and workout facility for the NYMC community. • NYMC saw an increase in clinical training opportunities by establishing academic affiliations with Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, N.J., Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y., and the Beckley VA Medical Center in West Virginia. • The Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College opened in 2016 making it the first new dental school in New York State in nearly half a century.

AWARDS AND ACCOLADES • The Business Council of Westchester named NYMC Corporate Citizen of the Year in recognition of its significant contributions and commitment to the community. • The Westchester County Association honored NYMC with the Leadership Award for offering innovative curricula and advanced technological developments in the community and contributing to Westchester’s growing biotech industry. • Demonstrating NYMC’s long-standing commitment to diversity, the College ranked in the top ten medical schools with African-American doctors-in-training by U.S. News & World Report. • The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) awarded the School of Medicine the coveted status of “Accreditation with Commendation” and extended its accreditation through 2020. • NYMC received re-accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for our residency and fellowship programs through 2025. • The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) awarded continued accreditation to the New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Medicine (SOM) for eight years, the maximum possible term. • The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) reaffirmed full accreditation of NYMC, recognizing the College for its progress and commending the quality of its Periodic Review Report and internal review process.
