a plunging illusion neckline, and sequins as trends. Another bridal trend Ms Caufield said she has taken notice of this year is buying a second dress to switch into after the wedding ceremony. She said wearing a big dress for the ceremony and a different dress more suited for dancing has been a popular idea with a number of brides. Some recent brides, Ms Caufield said, have chosen to stray from the traditional white gown and opt for lavender, champagne, or blush colors dresses. Buying dresses around a theme, like where the wedding will take place, especially if it is a destination wedding, has also been a trend, according to Ms Caufield. Labels + Tags’ PJ Yochum and store owner Christine Ruzek chose a number of items to display at their store when asked to offer examples of wedding trends this year. Choosing dresses based on where the wedding is being held, Ms Yochum said, can lead to some cute outfits. A short white dress with lace details, she said, would perfectly match with cowboy boots for a dress rehearsal or wedding held at a barn or local family venue. Examples Ms Ruzek chose as of this year’s trends ranged from classic cuts for rehearsal events or bridal showers, to short edgier options with cutouts or floral details for bridal showers or bachelorette parties. A black jumpsuit paired with a belt, Ms Yochum pointed out, would also be a great choice for almost any wedding, as the bride-to-be or guest. Ms Yochum advised picking “something classy but fun” for most wedding events, and Labels + Tags’ PJ Yochum said these outfits, three dresses and a black jumpsuit, could be worn to any wedding occasions, such as rehearsal dinners or bachelorette parties. —Bee Photo, Hallabeck
