fertiliser, salt, minerals and agro products. Kandla Port terminal will have the capacity to manage 20 million tonnes of cargo. The project costs around 1200 crore rupees and to be completed within 24 months. Kandla port is the only private sector port which has six ports locations in India. The six ports are in Mundra, Dahej, Hazira and Kandla in Gujarat, Mormugao in Goa and Visakhapatnam.

SITE The location is near to Tuna outside the Kandla stream. The Tuna port is owned by the Kandla Port Trust. The Adani will construct four T-shaped ports near Tuna with 14 metres depth, due to which the giant ships can move directly at Tuna, there is no need to transfer the cargo by small boats to the Kandla port. The sufficient space at Tuna also cuts the distance of the port behind the coast. Adani Ports plans to handle 200 million tonnes of cargo by 2020.

HDFC LAUNCHED SUPERIA AND PLATINUM CREDIT CARDS FOR DOCTORS Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) bank on 1 July 2012 launched two credits cards Superia and Platinum for doctors. It will furnish their special needs including lifestyle, travel and other needs. Hdfc planned to open one million credit cards to the fiscal year 2012. The doctors will be able to access credit card in more than 600 airports lounges in the world despite of the class or the airlines they are travelling. They will also get benefit from the reward point redemption across all major airlines in India.

B. SURENDER MOHAN APPOINTED AS THE CHAIRMAN AND MD OF NLC B. Surender Mohan was appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) on 1 July 2012. A R Ansari was the former Managing Director of Neyveli Lignite Corporation. Neyveli Lignite Corporation is the government organization and the leading company in mining, thermal power plants and innovative researches. B. Surender Mohan is 56 years old. He served as the Mines Director in his earlier stage of life. He started his career from Rourkela Steel Plant and he was the Deputy General Manager at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam in the year 1998. In addition, he was trained in various institutes of France and Italy. He presented many papers on the mining industry in Washington DC, United States of America and Poland.
