Inge was born on July 16, 1954, in Karlsruhe, Germany, to Richard and Gertrud Siler. She married Ted Lowry on Aug. 10, 1970, in Alva, Okla. Obituaries RICHARD W. GARMAN Richard W. Garman, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the Kiowa Hospital District Manor. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa, Kan., with Pastor Keith Fink officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home of Kiowa. Condolences may be shared with the family at www. lanmanmemorials. com. Richard was born on Nov. 29, 1925, to A.D. Garman and Frances M. Dotterer Garman at Kiowa. He grew up in Hazelton, Kan., and Kiowa and attended Kings College country school for eight years then graduated from Kiowa High School in 1944. He and Lorena B. Roberts were united in marriage and had three sons. He served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He was member of the VFW, American Legion, Cosmos Lodge #278, Scottish Rite of Freemasonary, Midian Shriners and Kiowa United Methodist Church. He worked as a farmer, custom harvester, carpenter and raised cattle. In Richard own words, “I am just an old farmer and wheat harvester.” He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Frances Garman; wife, Lorena; sisters, Lee Ona Garman, Alice M Rickie, Phyllis Triplett; and brother, A. J. Garman He is survived by three sons, Terry and wife Betty of Kiowa, Jeff and wife Chris of Bixby, Okla.; Rod and wife Kristin of Meriden, Kan,; seven grandchildren, Terra Burton and husband Adam, Stephanie Garman, Casey Garman Ashley Garman, Janson Garman, Cooper Garman, Jessica Garman; one great-grandchild, Lennox Burton; one sister, Juanita Eckert of Kiowa; one brother, Dean Garman of Rogers, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Kiowa Manor or Kiowa VFW and given to the funeral home.

RUTH ELLA NUTTER Funeral services for Ruth Ella Nutter will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Waynoka First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC. Ruth Ella Nutter, daughter of the late Otto and Georgia Irene (Shearer) Golbek, was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Woods County, Okla., and passed away June 13, 2014, at Alva, Okla., at the age of 76 years and 4 months. Ruth attended Manilla School and Waynoka High School. On July 21, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gerald Edward “Pete” Nutter in Alva. They made their home on the farm north of Waynoka. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Waynoka Nursing Home, at Smitty’s IGA Store, the Dairy Maid, and on the family farm. Some of her farm duties were milking cows, tractor driving and animal care, including baby ostriches. She was an excellent cook, providing many meals for farmhands, and an immaculate homemaker who was devoted to her husband and children. She was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church until it

BETTY JEAN WATSON Memorial services for Betty Jean Watson will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery with Rev. John Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Betty Jean Watson, daughter of the late Marion Frances and Myrtle Violet (Davis) Johnson, was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Okmulgee, Okla., and passed away June 13, 2014, at Woodward, Okla., at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 16 days. Betty grew up in Texas. In 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Ancil Thornton “Chief” Watson. They moved See Obits Page 38
