The information that we are requesting from you is to give our membership a preview of your work. In addition, applicants will be invited to interview with members of the cooperative. We hope you will find information here that will answer many of your questions about the gallery. The gallery currently has a limited amount of openings. New Masters Art Gallery takes pride in its membership and seeks to find individuals who not only have excellent artistic skills, but who are also well qualified to represent the gallery as a whole. Each member is an equal partner in the business and must be able to fulfill the requirements which are spelled out below. The gallery does not take a commission from any sold artwork; therefore, all profits from sales go directly to the artist. To help you in your decision making, we have listed below membership benefits and a summary of the duties and responsibilities of members of the gallery. Rental of the adjoining classroom is expected to offset membership fees. Annual member show exhibition. Quarterly group exhibition in the back gallery. Annual featured artist show in the main gallery– shared with three other artists. Referrals and resources for outside exhibitions. 7 day a week access to the NMA Co-op gallery for private appointments. Interaction with a community of working artists. No commissions on sales.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities


Full membership carries a commitment of twelve (12) months from the first monthly meeting in which work is first shown. Earlier departure shall entail continued payment of monthly dues until a suitable replacement is found. If at any time after the initial twelve (12) months period a member believes that he or she cannot meet the requirements of membership, or for any other reason the member does not want to continue with the gallery, termination of membership should be made by written notice two (2) complete months prior to resignation date with such notice given to the chairman so that a replacement may be found. All members are expected to attend the bi-annual meetings. Members must have a presence in gallery shows and participate in one or more committees. Prospective members must read and agree to the bylaws which are available on the NMA website, www.newmastersartgallery.com. Members shall pay a quarterly fee of $350 prior to the last day of the month of the quarter for the following quarter. Profits from the rental of the adjoining classroom space will be distributed on a quarterly basis and can be applied to the quarterly membership fee. The gallery operates on a quarterly basis beginning December-February, March-May, June-August and September-November. Application Checklist • • • •
