JANUARY~FEBRUARY SERMON SERIES Back to the Basics The Character of God

Boone County Life Center Baby Shower Please help us celebrate life by supporting the Boone County Life Center. As the director of Boone County Life Center, Bev Litscher meets young mothers every week that are faced with unplanned pregnancies and need to make decisions. Dedicated staff and volunteers provide confidential, free services including pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, peer counseling, and support services. Their life-saving mission is their passion to proclaim biblical truth that results in changed lives to the glory of God. As we have in the past years, New Hope would like to sponsor a “Baby Shower” during the month of January so that Bev can help these girls as they need it. Items can be new or gently used items and placed in the totes in fellowship hall by January 26. Diapers (all sizes), Wet Wipes, Bottles, Clothes (Newborn up to 3T), Learning Toys, Cribs, Crib Sheets, and Blankets. What a beautiful way to spread God’s Love throughout Boone County! 1

Women’s Ministry Corner Winter/Spring Study—2014 We will study Nehemiah in our next women’s Bible study which will begin the week of February 24th. Nehemiah is a 13 lesson commentary by Ray Stedman and daily study questions by Nancy Collins. Nehemiah takes place almost 100 years after many Jews had returned to Jerusalem from captivity in Babylon. They had restored the temple under the leadership of Ezra, but could not rebuild the rest of Jerusalem because their enemies made it impossible. Nehemiah held a high position in the king’s court in Persia, but he could not forget his people, Israel. With the king’s permission and authority, Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the city. At first glance Nehemiah seems to be merely the story of the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, but a closer look reveals the story of God’s faithfulness to His people and His ability to restore not only a wall, but people to a place of blessing. The message of Nehemiah is one of hope and restoration. Watch bulletins for sign-ups to be in January!
