Peninsula

Peninsula offers you the personal space you are looking for With its choice of stylish modern homes from chic two bedroom apartments to five bedroom houses, and a superb location close the heart of town, – from the stylish interiors to an enviable lifestyle in Dovercourt on the unique coastal landscape of north-east Essex. Dovercourt combines the elements of historic roots with all the amenities for modern living. There is a bustling shopping area around the High Sreet and Kingsway, as well as weekly market and monthly Farmers’ Market. There are three supermarkets all under a mile away, and you will find a great choice of places to eat, from restaurants to pubs – or you can enjoy the famous fish and chips of the area. Kingsway Hall is a the venue for concerts, exhibitions and drama productions while the classic Electric Palace cinema in Harwich combines entertainment from film to jazz. Dovercourt Leisure Centre at Low Road offers a swimming pool and solarium, fitness suite and floodlit astro-pitch – the Harwich and Dovercourt Cricket Club has its pavilion close to Low Road, and the thriving Dovercourt Lawn Tennis Club is just off Marine Parade. The town’s resort status means fun facilities like a boating lake and skating rink as well as a putting green and crazy golf course – or try the real thing on the course of the nearby Harwich & Dovercourt Golf Club. Dovercourt’s bay is a big draw for all water sports, while the Harwich Town Sailing Club hosts regional and national championships. From its distinctive landmark lighthouses, the Blue Flag beach of sand and shingle is an ideal location for strolls and walks close to home. There are also plenty more walking trails like Wrabness to the River Stour – much of the Stour Estuary is rich in woodland and meadlowland, wildlife and birdlife. The country lanes and shoreline also make for perfect cycling, with the National Cycle Network running from Harwich to Manningtree. The rail line through Manningtree, Mistley, Wrabness and Dovercourt onto Harwich Town is known as the Mayflower Line. Experience it from a different perspective on the Mayflower Line Ale Trail with its picturesque country inns – the town also hosts an annual Winter Ale Festival. By train, the Mayflower Line links to London Liverpool Street and the City only 1hr 30 minutes away, while road links are excellent with the A120, the town of Colchester just 20 46 miles, and Stansted Airport 50 miles away. 45 B/C
