High Street. This was re-erected in 1822 in the memory of Frederica, Duchess of York. On the pinnacle of the column was a dial stone with six facets each engraved with a sundial. Frederica, the Duchess was a high profile figure in high society circles and was the only daughter of King Frederick William II of Prussia. She resided in Oatlands for some thirty years. The beautiful countryside of Weybridge provides the ideal backdrop for those who enjoy leisurely walks and country pursuits.
