Saltis to bring home a bronze in the women’s under 21 quad scull. It was an exciting weekend of racing and we would like to congratulate all the athletes who competed for another great weekend of
NSW SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS
results for the club.
After an exhausting day of racing at the Reindeer regatta the previous day, our athletes had to back it all up with a change of pace in the State sprint championships, racing only over 500m with no time for mistakes. On Sunday the 9th of December, the club achieved many fantastic results across the board including accomplishing a silver for Chris Maytom and Conrad Bond in the men’s lightweight double and a bronze for Sarah Dieu in the women’s lightweight single. Jessica Richardson added to the previous NSWIS TIME TRIALS Chris Maytom, Conrad Bond, Jack Hanley, Jessica Richardson and Merran Holmes have continued to compete in the NSWIS monthly timetrials with the fourth one taking place on the 15th of December. Conditions were tough with the athletes battling against a slight headwind and horrible humidity throughout the 5km course, but with National trials held earlier that morning it was inspiring to be surrounded by the next Olympic hopefulls. Unfortunately Jack was unable to attend this timetrial and the month’s regattas after spending a weekend in hospital and having a bit of a tough time beating a sickness, we wish him all the best on his road to recovery.
A quick report on the fantastic efforts and results for our NUBC athletes over the past month!
