often ties the past to the present, drawing upon Persian influences to create large architectural murals and more intimate pieces like her Goddess of Water series. RAHELEH FILSOOFI Top Shops: I’ve been spending a lot of time at the Ceramic League of Miami. I also love the bazaar in Tehran.

Luxury Defined: The palace complex at Persepolis. It was founded in 518 B.C. by Darius the Great.

Design Icons: Frank Lloyd Wright. I admire his complete body of work.

Recent Project: Working on the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts show in Tampa.

Favorite Getaway: I love being next to the ocean, but my favorite place to visit is the salt lake in Qom, Iran. It’s there that I feel most connected to the earth.

Influences: Peter King and Xinia Marín, the masters of architectural ceramics. I had the pleasure of learning from them.

Up Next: I’m getting ready for a show in Canada at the end of the year, and I’m working on a mural for a client in Philadelphia.
