POLLING DAY- THURSDAY 3rd MAY Please note that school will remain open on this day. Polling will take place in the new unit on the lower school site and can only be accessed by the Hirst Gate entrance only. Visitors will not access the main school building and children will be confined to different areas at playtime. EASTER RAFFLE Thank you to all those who supported our Easter raffle, either by donating chocolate or buying tickets. We raised a grand total of £538, which helps towards subsidising some of our out of school visits. We still have one unclaimed raffle prize in the lower school which is Yellow 741. Please collect

your prize from the lower school office. SPORTS RELIEF Our sports relief week was very successful and we raised ÂŁ107. The children thoroughly enjoyed the daily mile challenge and therefore we will be continuing with this. ATTENDANCE We continue to work on attendance in school. Please remember to bring your child to school every day and on time. Late arrivals add up and also have a big impact on your child`s learning. In the Spring Term our attendance totalled 94.8% Congratulations to all the pupils who attended school every day. We had 78 pupils in total who had 100% attendance. PARENT WORKSHOPS/PRESENTATIONS We have had a number of these over the past term in various classes and they have been very successful. If you have attended any and did not complete an evaluation/comment sheet, please see your class teacher as we welcome your feedback. HOMEWORK Please remember to support your children with any homework that is set. This is extremely valuable and the children really enjoy sharing what they have done at home. Homework is sent out each Friday. SATS Y6 will be completing their SATS from the week beginning the 14th May. Please ensure your child continues to attend the booster classes up to this point and arrives to school on time ready to complete the statutory tests. PARKING We have received a number of complaints about cars parking on the zig zags at the lower school site. These are on both Hirst Gate and Pitt Street. Can I please remind you that these areas are no parking zones at any time. The safety of our children is paramount and any illegal parking is being reported to the police.
