FRESHMAN ORIENTATION You will start Freshman Orientation at the Little America Hotel. During Orientation Kickoff, students will walk four blocks to Neumont's campus to receive their new laptops and books, while family members stay at the hotel for a presentation on college life, and a question/answer session. Families should plan to say their farewells shortly after the presentations. USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN SALT LAKE CITY If you're flying in, you may not need to rent a car. Public transit from the airport to downtown Salt Lake City is easily accessible and affordable. The light rail, TRAX, will take you within walking distance of the Little America Hotel and Neumont College of Computer Science. For more information, go to www.rideuta.com. DRIVING IN SALT LAKE CITY If you are driving to Orientation Kickoff, there is complementary parking at the Little America Hotel. Please leave your car parked at the hotel. The Neumont campus is within walking distance and is in the TRAX Free Fare Zone. LODGING We strongly encourage you to book your hotel as early as possible. Salt Lake City and its surrounding suburbs have many hotel options. TOURING CAMPUS Campus will be open to students and their families from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September, 23. Staff from Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs will be available to answer your questions at this time. LAPTOP & BOOKS You'll receive your new Dell laptop, books, public transit pass, and have your ID badge photo taken at Orientation Kickoff. (If you haven't yet received your laptop bag, you will get it when you pick up your laptop.)
ASKING QUESTIONS Youâ€™ll have opportunities to ask questions about student life, support services, academics, and career options throughout Freshman Orientation. Feel free to chat with any staff member or current student at any time during the event.
HOUSING MOVE-IN Location: Your assigned housing location Friday, September 22 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM Your housing assignment with an exact address, move-in time, and roommates' information is included in this packet. You will also receive an email from the Office of Residence Life with this information. Please arrive on time to get your keys, meet your roommates, and move in.

You'll complete a week-long course designed to help you acclimate to college and Salt Lake City. Please come prepared with a pen and notebook along with your new laptop, Raspberry Pi, and walking shoes. This course is for credit and is a graduation requirement.

STUDENT HOUSING Neumont's student housing is not a typical college dorm room. Your furnished apartment comes with a kitchen, free access to washing machines and dryers, and high-speed internet. Typically, freshmen live in two-bedroom, two-bath apartments within 1.5 miles of campus.
