The Institute for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development Award The annual Institute Award, given in honor of the late Joseph P. McFadden, Bishop of Harrisburg, recognizes outstanding contributions in sports. Recipients exhibit strong character through athletics, exemplify spirituality, and embody the good that exists in sports. Recipients have shown a commitment to living out the Institute’s five core values (listed above) and are a source of inspiration to the Neumann University community and the sports world at large.
