Robert J. Steinberg’s earlier prints ranged from 4' x 5' on cloth in albumen of Indian miniature drawings, to 3' x 4' works on paper of mementi mori, still life, nudes and cityscape in albumen, cyanotype and platinum. He founded The Palladio Company in 1987 to manufacture platinum coated photograhic paper, and was an early adopter of digital technology, starting in 1991. He originally used digital production to make enlarged negatives for platinum printing, but quickly adopted the technology and began working in color. He had his first one man show in 1976, and was widely exhibited and collected before withdrawing his work from public view in 1993. The originals in this book were all printed 30"x40" on paper with pigment inks. He resumed showing his work in 2009.
