Northampton Borough Council required a platform to deliver their IT infrastructure services to their user community. Networks First installed a H3C LAN for Northampton Borough Council which replaced their aging LAN Size of the Project infrastructure. Networks First deployed H3C IRF technology to virtualise parts of the LAN infrastructure reducing device management overhead whilst building additional redundancy and performance into the LAN design.

The LAN migration project enabled Northampton Borough Council to relocate their Head Quarters and associated centralised IT infrastructure to new buildings in a controlled manner whilst retaining server and WAN connectivity for their user base. Networks First ensured that the network refresh had no impact on the user community. Whilst this upgrade took place Northampton Borough Council were also rolling out a new IPT infrastructure. Networks First’s experience with converged solutions ensured that we were able to offer guidance around LAN configurations and best practises for the council’s deployment of IPT.
