BeWare: a New wave of DRIFTERS For ...

You’ll Need: Palette Knife. Third Eye.

How to Make

Prep Time: Half the time it takes to transcribe details with a fine bristle brush and the time it takes to cross from New York State to Malibu. Directions: Place wet ingredients in one bowl. Sea salt. The white sand the family of four tourists walk on, as they spend their two Week Vacation.

Gay Summer Rick’s

“West Channel Sunset” To one side put dry ingredients: The tourists on two weeks vacation trailing behind their chubby white toddlers, teetering on chubby white legs. Sea salt. Sift: Dry ingredients through your current perspective, being one of the last of your friends standing who hasn’t moved back to the Midwest to find a steady job and how much further outside the city your apartment keeps moving. To the other side the wet ingredients: sixth generation surfers, two weeks from graduation, tan and chiseled, lolling in the cove like a Roman bath. Blend. Layer with palette knife. Let dry before applying next layer. meanwhile, heat sunlight at a high noon until blazing white. Set aside to slowly cool for four hours. Once first layer dries, layer the scent of bougainvillea from over the canyon, or just the knowledge that it’s there. The smell of fried clams at Neptune’s. A northeasterly wind. Let dry. For the final layer, set the closed lifeguard tower in the distance. The light should have cooled to a 4 p.m. punch pink. Drizzle freely in the background. For garnish, a sugary moon. Serves all. Ingest freely.

Thought to have disappeared at the end of the original gold rush, the current economic times and the revival of gold has summoned them back, looking to alchemize despair and hopelessness into a better life. Be on the lookout (they can be recognized) by their dust bowl-era appearance. Do not attempt to speak to them, they are silent and will look past you. It is not advised to interfere. They’ve taken to squatting in the spaces left vacant by the lost footage in the film “Greed” by Erich Von Stronheim. Once they have found the gold they seek, it, like all idols will draw the life from the idolaters, leaving them colorless and they will start to fade. Residents are advised however, to steer clear of the gold itself, as there seems to be no resistance to it.
