MICHELLE CITRIN Michelle Citrin’s love for photography started over two decades ago in the darkroom at the Miami Beach Art Center. This passion led her to the Savannah College of Art and Design where she received her BFA in Photography. Upon graduation, Michelle worked as a stylist assistant for Ford Management, showcasing her creativity for fashion. In 2009, after returning to her hometown of Miami, she launched Neox Image alongside photo partner David Lloyd. Michelle’s sharp eye for detail allows her to focus not only on art direction but also the design and styling of every frame. With her strong background in fashion photography, Michelle brings a unique sensibility to advertising and editorial campaigns as well as on-location shoots.
DAVID LLOYD A Maryland native, David Lloyd received BFAs in both Graphic Design and Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Upon graduation, David landed the coveted position of working alongside celebrity photographer Jill Greenberg in Los Angeles. In 2009, David branched off to open his own photography studio, Neox Image, with his creative partner and longtime friend, Michelle Citrin. With his creative mindset, David is most in his element composing high-end images on an array of subjects, from still-life frames and artist imagery to stylized portraiture and C-Suite Executive profiles. His extensive experience in studio lighting and design along with his technical training in high-end retouching enables David to compose compelling images that capture the essence of his subjects.
PRODUCT & ADVERTISING NEED
The Wynwood-based plant boutique had tried several times to capture the artistry behind their terrariums and mini gardens. Due to the reflective surfaces and white aesthetic of their product, Plant The Future was unable to transfer their in-store branding to their print and online marketing.
Neox Image was determined to deliver exceptional results to Plant The Future. Working with different lighting options, Neox Image successfully communicated the products’ depth despite the difficulties inherent with glass. Having an intimate understanding of the company’s brand and aesthetic, Neox Image was sensitive to how the images would define Plant The Future. Michelle and David incorporated the store’s signature white horse statue as a corner stone in their new identity. The horse now serves as the focal point of their marketing campaign.
“When we started to work with Neox Image, we were looking for someone to grasp the look and feel of our brand— clean, minimalistic—and do it justice. We wanted to showcase that we are a high-end boutique. Neox Image did it so well. They were able to bring out the beauty of our brand without sacrificing our look.” - Yair Marcoschamer, Plant The Future 14

CATALOGUE & EDITORIALS NEED:
Matooka, a high-end girls clothing line based in Toronto, needed captivating catalogues to showcase their spring and fall lines. With a limited budget and full racks of garments, Matooka was in search of a vision that would best fit their brand.
Neox Image came on board in 2010 to deliver a targeted approach to convey the sophistication of the brand while maintaining a fun and light-hearted tone for their seasonal catalogues. From booking enthusiastic models to conceptualizing the direction and theme, Neox Image delivered striking photographs that perfectly captured the look of the brand. By choosing the Neox Image team, Matooka completed their entire catalogue in a one-day shoot. Michelle and David managed every aspect ranging from art direction, styling, project management, talent booking and photography, saving Matooka time and money.
“Neox Image gets the essence of what our line is about. David and Michelle compliment each other perfectly; we thoroughly enjoy working with them. They are great at capturing movement and they are absolutely wonderful with the children on each shoot. - Yona Elishis & Daniella Kuhl, Matooka

LIVE ACTION & BRANDING NEED:
World Freerunning & Parkour Federation (WFPF) is a global organization promoting a young sport to national and international audiences. WFPF came to Neox Image to create a new branding campaign to address misconceptions head-on and introduce their spectacular athletes.
Neox Image developed a creative and elegant approach to showcase the beauty and fluid motion of the sport. Michelle and David rose to the challenge to photograph the athletes’ graceful prowess in mid-air. The natural difficulty of capturing rapid and exquisite techniques in individual images demanded a creative and versatile team with technical expertise. The results have defined WFPF in a new light.
“Working with Neox Image was incredible. With Michelle and David’s direction, I discovered how to transfer my power into elegance. The typical view of Parkour looks reckless, dangerous and difficult, but Neox Image brought out the beauty of our movements. I am very thankful that I was a part of the shoot, and truly believe I am a more versatile spokesperson and athlete because of it.” - Justin Sheaffer, Professional Parkour Athlete (WFPF)

DUO A DIFFERENT VANTAGE POINT:
NEOX IMAGE STEALS MIAMI’S PHOTOGRAPHY SCENE
nter stage left: a petite vivacious blonde holding a camera almost too big for her frame and a perfectly coiffed gentleman, with one hand tucked into his blazer pocket and the other assertively pointing towards the set in front of him.The scene? A spacious Wynwood studio in the heart of Miami. At first glance Michelle Citrin and David Lloyd look like the latest rock duo to be labeled the darlings of the indie music scene. But their instruments of choice are not guitars, instead they are Canon 5D Mark IIs. Their audiences aren’t packing themselves into unique venues all over town so much as grappling for the latest edition of a magazine or brand website. Over the past three years, Neox Image—the creative brainchild of Citrin and Lloyd—has become one of the more celebrated photography studios in South Florida. Their unique approach to their work allows

them to morph fluidly to meet the needs of each project, ranging from stylized fashion pieces and brand advertisements, to events like weddings and corporate parties. They have gained a reputation as a highly creative and dedicated team—team being the key word. Most photography boutiques feature one strong lead but Neox Image goes a step further and offers two highly trained photographers from one of the most prestigious art schools in the nation—Savannah College of Art and Design. Functioning as a cohesive unit, Neox Image brings a unique sensibility to their work that is impossible to achieve with a solo photographer.Their ability to pair distinct styles allows them to evoke powerful responses from each image that they create. “When you have one photographer looking through the viewfinder composing the image and another one 40
on the computer looking over the shot, watching the subject move, you have twice as much power over the image,” explains Citrin when discussing the value of hiring a photography team. The balance of Citrin and Lloyd’s individual styles provides clients with results that showcase their distinct approaches. Lloyd’s style is more polished and structured, while Citrin’s allows for more spontaneity to find the truly exceptional shots. Combined, Neox Image produces images that far exceed expectations. “We Take Pride In Our Work. Our Ultimate Goal Is To Have Audiences Connect To A Brand, Product, Or Person Through A Photograph.”
their vision a reality. “ As the photography industry evolves, encouraging amateur pursuits, Neox Image’s dedication to their craft and attention to detail are uwavering. “You can have the best equipment in the word, but if you don’t know how to utilize it or compose an image— the result won’t be there, the photo won’t be there,” Lloyd explains. For these adroit photographers, a picture is more than a static image; it needs to create a reaction and an emotional connection with the viewer. “Our clients fuel us and ignite us,” Citrin says. “We treat every job like it’s a big budget production. We want the world to see what can be accomplished on any budget. We want to deliver a product that we can be proud of.”
“Our style is very fresh, clean and colorful. We’re very Miami,” says Citrin. Wynwood is a perfect fit for Neox Image. The up-and-coming art neighborhood has blossomed around them. Pioneers of the area, Neox Image has watched the area evolve. “It’s great being in Wynwood because there is a lot of creative energy here. To be able to situate yourself in a neighborhood that you can be inspired by is amazing, it’s always changing,” Lloyd says.
Neox Image is at the forefront of the industry creating stunning images for ad campaigns, editorials and portraits.Their intrepid work runs from highlighting local artists and businesses to brand-name products and fashion spreads. With a varied portfolio, they consistently focus on capturing unique moments and bringing them to life in photographs.
It is that inspiration that allows Neox Image to consistently deliver a high-quality product to their clients. Their expertise and knowledge is not only evident in their work producing meticulously framed, lit, and edited images, but also in their collaborative approach to each project. For Michelle and David, photography has always gone beyond snapping a beautiful image—it’s about creating an experience. “We want people to connect with our work, with what we’re doing,” Lloyd says. It’s that mentality that has garnered this duo the attention and praise that they have achieved so far.
